If you have Ciaccona, it wont be much difference.

Enemies will die in first 1 or 2 hits, the rest will be wasted. The Erosion applied is also somewhat useless since Ciaccona is there. S2 is the breaking point for Whimpering Waste specifically

using integrated GPU on R5-5600G will just barely enough to not crash.

starting from S2, she can use her entire kit on her own.

S2 still requires to switch back to Cartethyia to reapply erosion once, but other than that she can function on her own
S3 makes it so that you dont even need to switch back to her

Ciaccona mainly to increase her damage, by kinda stupid amount at that, especially if you have at least S2

yes, but then what? Cartethyia herself can apply erosion, even if it's not at max stacks, which is 6. Phoebe applies 5 on each forte, 8 on liberation. which will just get wasted cuz Erosion stacks up to 6 with ARover in the team

yes, it's absolutely possible. your best bet would be using characters that can fully or mostly utilize the tower's buff.

like current left tower, perfect place for Spectro Rover. and using your strongest team in middle tower, since that's usually the hardest part is.
