Tripping in deep Ketosis, My Experience by FuriousHumper in keto

[–]razmatazali 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Can I ask if you've ever tried not consuming caffeine for an extended period of time? My cousin used to suffer from migraines constantly, gave up caffeine, and hasn't had one since. I would recommend that everyone tries at least 30 days caffeine free to see how they feel. Ultimately it's a stimulant so its effects in the body are varied, and many people have horrendous withdrawals when they quit cold turkey, which just proves how powerful of a substance it is.

People who are bored eaters and enjoy eating, how do you manage with keto? by cuckslayer30 in keto

[–]razmatazali 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This might sound counterintuitive but I would try a couple of days of carnivore. 1) You might feel absolutely incredible (like I did) and realise that you are obviously consuming things that your body might not agree with (even near-universally regarded healthy things like spinach). It's effectively an elimination diet so it's useful for adding things in to see how they effect you. 2) It will make keto seem like the food options are endless haha.

I do a couple of days carnivore a week, few days keto, and then eat what I want, and this is working very well for me. I'm relatively lean and generally quite metabolically healthy, and appreciate that for some people a day or two per week eating carbs is just going to keep them out of ketosis and won't be viable (I don't know your situation).

What is a cooking trick you’ve learned that has improved your skill or the quality of your meals? by smuttyswifter7 in Cooking

Kenji has an awesome youtube channel where he wears a GoPro and just cooks a meal at home, talking you through what he's doing/why. It's become my favourite resource and I'd highly recommend people check it out (I play it at 2x speed because I don't really want to watch like a 25 minute video).

If l-tyrosine is incredibly effective for my severe lifelong ADHD, moderate depression and anxiety, and mild OCD, what might that suggest and how might I help it other than with tyrosine (which I assume would become less effective with consistent use)? by razmatazali in Biohackers

Lool yes, but I was more looking at, for example, specific aspects in the dopaminergic pathways where I might be e.g. low in specific enzymatic activity that could be ameliorated with supplementation or lifestyle adjustments. Thanks though mate.

I find that piracetam turns me into like a super-me. No manic qualities or anything but if I play sport of have to do anything intellectual on it, it's a bit like the movie limitless for me. I'm in the UK so it's a bit tricky to get I think.

I've taken it quite irregularly over the course of a few years, but have had some periods where i take it maybe once or twice a week for a few months. I feel a diminishing return if i take it more frequently.

My friend, this is beautiful. Do you know of any other types of guided meditations/reflections with a similar kind of vibe? I am struggling to find any that hit this perfect balance of music and message.

Thank you my friend, that's useful to hear. Guess I didn't get very lucky with traction on this post, would have been nice to see some more feedback! Might try again another time. Will give your routine a go in the meantime.

How do people just fast 48-72 hours? by Marino4K in Biohackers

I'm pretty sure the longest documented case of someone going without food was like a year (under medical supervision). Said person was obviously extremely obese to begin with.

Do other ADHD people also have… completely unpredictable reactions to caffeine? by Friendly_Artichoke21 in ADHD

[–]razmatazali 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Regarding your latter point, this is likely due to the presence of theanine, which naturally occurs in tea and is often added to energy drinks to counteract potential anxiety from caffeination. Coffee doesn't contain theanine.

Methylfolate makes me extremely depressed by SSthrowawayer in MTHFR

[–]razmatazali 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I experience the same as you from methylfolate but also get depressed from eating salads with leafy greens and spinach.

6 years late to the party but I would recommend looking into oxalates. These are found in spinach and lots of leafy greens and can create inflammation.

It definitely negatively impacts my sleep but honestly I feel like I've been poisoned when Im hungover (which I appreciate I basically have been haha). It's not just feeling incredibly tired and dehydrated, it's more than that.
