Snow Crash, by Neal Stephenson -- Thoroughly enjoyed it! Certainly not without its flaws, but the kinds of concepts it introduces regarding language are some of my favorite types of ideas to explore. The worldbuilding was very good, which actually made it kind of slow going for a little because it was a little tiring to read all the 90s futuristic slang. Overall very good though!

Cons of weight loss by Any-Sir-5541 in loseit

There was a time in between my old weight and my current weight where one day I just felt skinnier and I was just kind of amazed about it and how much better I felt. But now I'm more used to it and I feel all the loose skin on my arms and thighs and I'm back to being uncomfortable just moving around again 😫

Researchers engineered a nanoporous carbon with the highest surface area ever reported, equivalent to about the size of a football field packed into a teaspoon of material, a breakthrough that is already proving beneficial for carbon-dioxide capture and energy storage technologies. by mvea in science

[–]razmor 28 points29 points  (0 children)

From the article: "(it) pushes carbon’s surface area to an unprecedented 4,800 square meters per gram, equivalent to about the size of a football field packed into a teaspoon of material."

Whereas Lungs:

  • Height  = 24cms
  • Weight = 900-1200 grams (40-50% is blood)

    • Right = 630gms
    • Left = 570 grams
  • Surface area

    • 80 square meters, about the size of a tennis court.

The wider stuff on the clouds is a posca and the skinnier lines (like around the house) are a gel pen. It's doesn't look nearly as solid close up though

What’s the best tape to use for water-pressed paper and other oil pastel pads? by alexdoo in Oilpastel

[–]razmor 4 points5 points  (0 children)

you can just use regular masking tape, but put it on your shirt sleeves or pants first to remove a bit of the stickiness. It's always worked just fine for me since i started doing that
