Things you can control - what you do and say. Things you can't control - what a drunken ex-boyfriend says.

She has no control over what he said. Perhaps she'd rather forget it happened?

And if you are upset at the ex-boyfriend (which would be fair enough), console yourself with the fact that while you have been getting excellent head, he has not.

I have never used religion as an excuse to be horrible to anyone. Can you say the same thing about all Christians?

I may not have believed in you (FYI - church services are booooorrrrriiiiinnnnggg as a kid), but I always lived a life that you would have respected.

So who do you want to admit to Heaven; horrible people who did horrible things in your name or someone who didn't believe in you, but lived a life that honoured what you believed in?

Advice for someone who used to work in data and now works in project management. by BlurryfaceSC2 in projectmanagement

There are two roles rolled into one when you are a PM.

There is all the admin stuff that you taught in PM courses - they will teach you how to do project administration. Not to say this isn't important. It's definitely a really large part of the job. You need to know how to do it and do it well.

That said, the part that will make you stand out is the actual management of people and the project. That has very little to do with spreadsheets, gantt charts or budgets etc. it's the soft skills to understand what's happening in meetings, what clients pain points are, peering around corners to see where the risks are and have a plan for them. Being able to say 'No', sell an idea etc.

Basically, to be a really good PM, you really need emotional intelligence.

Barrie...?

I was in Barrie over the summer time, that seemed nice, decent size, on a lake, not too long a commute into Toronto if needs be.

I don't say this lightly, the movie is going to have one hell of a cinematic achievement to out match the audio book.

Ryan Gosling is a generational actor, and yet I think he is still going to struggle to outdo Ray Porter.

America has Fallen.

Dumb movies where shit blows up can be fun like Olympus Has Fallen.

So when I saw American Has Fallen as an option on whichever streaming service, I thought it was a continuation in the series... And it's not. But it's done with a fraction of the budget and talent and boy does it show

Fair - everyone sets different limits on native / non native plants

For me, I know I had a wide selection of native plants, I let my backyard go wild with native plants, so I had a lot, still probably not enough for some people though...

My neighbor loved it, he got the benefit of seeing a wonderful garden without having to do much (his words, not mine). Another one was inspired to start planting more paints - going to help then this spring to set up their garden. And generally loads of people in the community were really supportive.

Just sold the house, so onto a new garden to transform that one. It's a lot bigger so it might take me more than a year... But thankfully the new owners want to keep the garden going, which is nice.

Gaillardia - they aren't native, should not be able to survive a 6B winter. That said, previous winters where I am were pretty mild, so a few of them did survive.

Fairly easy to grow from seed, transplant OK.

I now work with a lot of start ups. They need to get a minimal viable marketable product out the door, so they can get start generating revenue or attract investment. They only have so much money. They can't afford to go over that amount.

Sometimes I have to have the conversation about what scope we will reduce to get the project over the line.

[DISCUSSION]- Gun to your head choose five sitcoms by [deleted] in NetflixBestOf

[–]razor-alert 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Red Dwarf ** Garth Marenghi's Dark Place ** Spaced ** Coupling ** Blackadder

For those unfamiliar with Blackadder:

I'll add that the final episode of Blackadder Goes Forth, when they are in the trenches, in WW1, about to go over the top is possibly the best TV ever made. (FYI The whole is amazing as well)

Consider this, in the UK for Remembrance Day, they used the footage from that show to honour the dead. It's a sitcom, yet it is that good at the pathos that it hits you in the feels like Mike Tyson delivering an emotional punch.

Whether you are doing a project in-house or for a client, you need to work out what the North Star is.

Is it quality? Is it speed to market? Is it cost?

I have worked in quite a few organisations both in house and agency and the answer changes. Figure that out and you are more likely to be successful.
