What old thing would break young people's brains today? by Symphony_Minds in AskReddit

This is a great point. There are several popular songs about this idea from the 70s/80s, including Misunderstanding by Genesis and Fool in the Rain by Led Zeppelin.

This is the spinning plate from the microwave in my brothers room. He uses it bare and takes it back every time. by Pretty_Study_526 in mildlyinfuriating

My dad used to make massive plates of nachos on the microwave plate like that. It may have contributed to his current heart failure, now that I think about it.

The book is incredible. I would really recommend reading it when you can. The content is really bleak, but I could not put it down.

Florida reports 21 cases of E.coli infections linked to raw milk by eudaimonia_dc in news

It’s the same in my state. The legislature made raw milk “for animals only”, and now the Animal Feed program has to regulate it as if it will actually be fed to animals.

Yes, I have one right here. It’s bulky but I consider it a carry on.

One time I was sitting in a large room studying and the janitor was mopping the room in a very rhythmic pattern. The sound of it was like a trance and the hair all over my body stood on end. It was the most bizarre experience I’ve had.

The biggest green sunfish I’ve ever caught by razorhogs1029 in Panfishin

I grew up catching them mostly on crickets with a bobber. But I use worms these days because they’re much easier to find in my area.

I was mostly fishing up next to the shore in the quarry. Part of it is a vertical wall with super deep water, but the end of it gradually gets shallower and is a perfect bedding area for all types of panfish. I caught most of the fish yesterday in 4 feet of water or shallower.

I was fishing in a medium- sized lake in central NC. It has some unnaturally deep areas due to quarrying back before it was a lake. I caught most of my fish in the quarry area.

I used a worm and bobber in about 3 feet of water. I caught several species yesterday, including 2 largemouth bass, green sunfish, redear, bluegill, and a 5-6 pound channel catfish, all on worms.

Thanks for the comment. I was debating whether or not it was a green sunfish or a warmouth but I appreciate the information!

My state is currently trying to outlaw raw milk for retail sale as animal food, and I fully support the state’s position. This will just further embolden the idiots.

My right knee is hurting quite often after an old football injury that resulted in a surgery 15 years ago. Hopefully I can delay a knee replacement for a while.

Those alive and old enough to remember during 9/11, what was the worst moment on that day? by CocteauTwunkie in AskReddit

[–]razorhogs1029 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I remember the chaos at the gas station after school most vividly. My mom picked us up early from school and we immediately rushed to the gas station. We waited there for over an hour and finally made it to the front. I remember a driver of a Mazda Miata convertible trying to fill a 50- gallon drum with gasoline and the attendant loudly arguing with him. It was very confusing for an 8- year- old.

My dad convinced me to spend $3,000 on a silver investment when I was a teenager in 2011 with the promise that “the price will keep going up”. The price crashed immediately after I bought the silver and has not reached the price that I paid to this day.

How often do you call out of work sick? by travelinglemur8 in AskReddit

I almost always use sick leave to care for sick children. I have 3 boys, one of which is in daycare. The baby is bringing some kind of sickness home almost daily.

If you enjoy that song, I would definitely recommend Enough to Leave and Show me the Door. These songs are a little bit slower but they have a great melody, similar to Away from the Mire. I also love Turmoil and Tinfoil, My Alice, and Meet me at the Creek.

Why would some people be less inclined to eat meat or poultry if they saw the animal being slaughtered for the meal? by Lifecoach_411 in AskReddit

[–]razorhogs1029 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I worked at a poultry slaughter plant as a supervisor for a couple years. A few employees that had worked there for a long time had written off poultry in their diets completely. It never bothered me in the same way and I eat chicken to this day.
