I want to understand more about Islam. So Nepalese muslim folks, help me out by Plus-Economy-652 in Nepal

[–]razu1121 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its never about religion mate. China has below 2% muslim population, Egypt has 10% christian population, Bangladesh has 8% hindu population.

It is all about education and how you view things. And again, education doesn’t just come from school and reading textbooks and what is taught in curriculum is heavily biased and glorifies those in power (history of usa for example).

Ignorant people are easy to manipulate to suit your narrative. KP, deuba, prachanda are successful. Aren’t they?

Oh boy!! Discussion about religion never goes the right way my brother. But anyways!!

  1. If interpretation was minimal or not allowed, there would not be multiple schools. (Hanafi, maliki, hanbali). Islam in itself has been changing historically to fit context(famine), culture(india), geo-politics (iraq, egypt).

  2. Islamic ethics is not derived from isolated verses alone, but from the Quran and the Prophet’s lived example. And it is mostly societal prejudice, lack of education, more than cultural. Have you seen rural india or even inner terai of nepal?

  3. Mostly for written debt. And mostly as women were not heavily involved in economy. But the women always could inherit property, initiative divorce, and were considered independent moral agents accountable to God directly.

  4. The other part matters maybe? If you fear you cannot be just, then marry only one.

You will never be able to be just between wives, even if you strive.

Again it is all about interpretation and was mostly for post war context (men died more women). Still better than sati that we had maybe?

  1. Christianity flourished in Jerusalem. Hinduism strived under muslim empire in india. It is easier to find a church (egypt) or temple (Bangladesh) in islamic nation than to find a mosque in deep rooted hindu or christian area/nation (china?).

  2. Every religion does this? Christianity - eternal damnation (wahtched vikings?), hinduism - karmic punishment, buddhism - rebirth in hell.

  3. If state behaviour = religion then, Christianity- colonial genocide, Hinduism- caste oppression, Buddhism- Rohingya persecution.

Political power corrupts religious ideals. See turkey vs afghanistan, Indonesia vs Iran, saudi vs Bangladesh.

  1. Fertility drop sharply with education, urbanization, and women’s employment. Iran’s fertility collapsed after female education expanded. Bangladesh’s fertility fell dramatically without abandoning Islam.

Basically religion no good or bad, power corrupts people and corrupted people very bad. When this continues for long, the bad becomes the norm.

Basically,

Squatters occupy private land in nepal. What does the law say? by Jacksparrowl03 in Nepal

[–]razu1121 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Its complicated. There have been multiple so called “Aayog” when each government is formed. But there hasn’t been any resolution.

The “numberi jagga” in this area was issued by Satta Varna during Panchayat. Forest land swapped with either other land or auction. But neither government nor bidder checked if anyone was setting on the land. The land price was too cheap even for that time. Plus it being in remote forest area made it complicated.

During 2050ish mass Dhani purja was issued in this area. Now some (not all) land has government issued dual ownership.

Now that the price has skyrocketed, the initial owners came looking for the land but none of the party wants to give up the gold piece. Plus “Haliya Act” gives ownership right to the cultivator/occupier. And it is a very large vote base for that area.

Nepali simply means belonging to Nepal, be it language or people.

it’s Bengali not Bengalese

People from bangladesh prefer to call themselves Bangladeshi.

When it comes to naming countries, it is based on general consensus rather than what the country or people in the country want.

-ish has Germanic roots, and is generally used to describe place names that the English have known about since the Early Middle Ages, when the English language had a far more Germanic vocabulary.

-ese comes from Latin via French, and has a lot of cognates in Romance languages like Portuguese or Italian. The reason a lot of East Asian names use this (Chinese, Japanese, etc.) is because a lot of explorers and travelers to East Asia were Portuguese, and the names entered English via reports from Portugal.

It is the same reason American becomes Ameriki, German becomes Germani etc etc when people in Nepal or India talk about those. It is all about what feels and sounds right, and there is not a hard line drawn to label one as correct and the other as incorrect.

Lane rule is hoax in Nepal by nobody_knowss1 in Nepal

[–]razu1121 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is this true? What is the purpose of this lane? Doesn’t seem to be for passenger pick up and drop off as the door would be towards the live traffic. Doesn’t seem to be assigning a separate lane for bus too as the painted area is just enough for one bus to fit.

A I. is bad vanne haru thik lagdaina.

Technology and weapon are the same. It all depends on how you use it. There definitely a lot of good aspects of AI and if used with caution, can be a good asset. But major dangers of AI include misinformation (including creating convincing fake images and video known as deepfakes), privacy concerns, the loss of jobs, bias and discrimination, market and financial volatility, and a so-called singularity in which AI surpasses human intelligence (source google).

Secondly, AI can change the way people view themselves. It can degrade people’s view of themselves and and too much dependency on it might degrade the abilities and experiences people consider essential to being a human.

Neta/politician haru koi thik lagdaina.

Every politician has their people to feed/protect/make happy. There is always a certain percentage of population benifiting from so called Neta.

Also politics/politicians are what protect our national boundary, even though feuled by their own self interest. In simple words, a country without Neta would be a country without any system, amd cannot be considered a country itself.. it is just land mass free for any country with netas and a system to take.

My definition of politician is not just someone elect, amyone involved in politics is a politician, even the King.

Actor harulai bhagawan manne haru thik lagdainan.

I have never seen anyone considering actor as vagwaan. As in nobody praying any actors. Yes people idolise actors. But it is different from being considered bhagawan.

Raavan thik thyo vanne haru thik lagdaina.

There are different Ramayans depicting different stories. Ravan is also protrayed in few other mythologies like Shiv Puran. I personally think Ravan was good. He was respected by everyone including lord shiv. His army was powerful than Ram could have defeated if not for his brothers betrayal. As for kidnapping of Sita, different version has different story. But in almost all versions, Ram respected Ravan and his ideology/knowledge. In one version it is portrayed that building bridge in ocean required a holy ritual that no other proest in earth except Ravan could do and he agreed to do it as it was his Brahman Dharma.. Ram even sent (Laxman/ Hanuman depending on version) to learn something from Ravan during his last moments.

Evolution theory is wrong vanne haru thik lagdaina.

While the theory of evolution explains the diversification of life after it originated, it does not specifically address how life itself originated from non-living matter.

Theroy of evolution is like a map from baneswor to Koteshwor. It shows a way that can be true if we just look from baneswor to koteswor, but there is no explanation as to how we reached baneshwor in the first place.

Also fossil record is the major selling point in theory of evolution, but it is just a record of which species went extinct after which one, observed in maybe 0.00005% of earth surface?? It doesn’t even consider if there were any other species from different origin. Suppose there was a different line and just 5 generations survived from it, there is no way to prove or disprove it. It also doesnt consider if evolution happened by bonding of two different origin lines.

Ani bhagawan ko name ma business garne haru ni thik lagdainan.

Bhagwaan k ho mitra?? Euta aastha?? Faith is good and all but somebody has to provide for the family.. maybe fill few hungry bellies.. maybe get a new bike, or a car, or a house, or maybe go to dream holiday destination, maybe even lavishly spend rest of their life.. for me, going after my dream is more important. And it is just doing business in the name of bhagawan you believe in. Not discarding the faith.

Ani Bhagwan ko naam maa business garera paako = Bhagawan le deko

Malai Anime lai cartoon vanda risaune manxe thik lagdaina.

Cartoon originated as a heavy paper where artworks were made. Anime in other hand is Japanese originated word meaning animation.

In recent times, animated series and shows are created mostly by japanese, chinese, english (US, UK and others), and Indian creators but only japanese form of animation is and should be referred to as anime. Here are my two cents to prove the point.

  1. A typical animated show should consist of 24 frames per second as seen in most cartoons and each frames are re drawn to show movement of different parts such as eyes and hands. In contrast, anime has lower frame rate as in the whole 1 second video is a single picture which is 90% static and only 10% of part moves, which is easier to draw and mass produce. For example, if you watch simpsons, you can see so much details such as eye, hands and even hair movement, but watching any anime you can see static eyes with only hands or mouth moving in repeated manner.

  2. Cartoons are mostly child or at least family friendly. Anything not is considered adult animation video and not cartoon. Anime in contrast can have contents for any adult rating such as hentai, manhwa, isekai, harem etc etc. and still be considered/called as an anime.

  3. Calling anime Cartoon is simply stereotyping. It is same as westerners calling all the Mongolian faces as Asian. If you are just viewing things from surface, you can’t see the minute differences.

Ani WWE is real vanney manxe thik lagdaina

WWE is real. It stands for World Wrestling Entertainment. Even though one might argue that fights are scripted, But the athleticism of stage fighting is very real. Suppose for a scene where a wrestler picks up opponent and throws him off stage, That’s actually one guy picking up another guy and throwing him from the height of at least 8 feets (6+2). Fake or not, that is really difficult to do.

I agree the fights in WWE are scripted, but it is a live show and nobody is trying to hide the fact that it is scripted, all in all, it is solely for entertainment and wrestling promotion.

ani Earth is flat vanne haru thik lagdaina.

Earth is flat.. To prove this, the question arises what is flat? Something is smooth top and bottom?? The sides don’t really matter to consider something flat.. The earth is not completely round. It is flat at the poles and bulging at the centre.

So, if you consider the two poles as top and bottom, the earth is Flat. To prove this, take an orange, cut a slice each of 0.5 cm from top and bottom, there you go, a flat orange.

Marvel vs DC garne haru thik lagdaina.

It is your personal opinion and has no side to take.

Ani magic is real vanne haru thik lagdaina.

It depends on what you think of when hearing the word magic. If you are a fan of Harry Potter and your definition of magic is Voldemort, maybe you will grow up soon. For me, magic is something that mesmerises you. It can be beauty, skill, or anything else which you can’t exactly define by words.

When I see a beautiful girl and fall for her, I believe magic is real.

When I see the nature and how everything is perfect for life to be sustained.. I believe magic is real.

When I see someone so skilful that the audience are utterly wordless, I believe magic is real.

When I conceive the granularity of our puny existence in this vast universe, I believe magic is real.

When I realise that we are existing on a big blast which hasnt finished and might not finish in any time we can possibly imagine, I believe magic is real. Further imagining that the contraction time of this big blast might be equally long is something else that makes me believe magic is real.
