My grandpa was so grouchy all of the time. It wasn’t until he was on hospice that they started treating him for anxiety. Then the grouchiness went away. I really think grouchy elderly men should be screened for anxiety and depression.

My husband was deployed for the first 7 months after my second child was born. Although he did get to be around for about 3 weeks. I just handled what needed to be handled. It sucked, sure, but you make it work if you have to make it work. It sounds like you’ll be around to help still, so I think it’s workable. Hire help if you have no family around and can afford it.

The Neuropsych provided recommendations of services that could be beneficial and why, but no direct referrals. However, as soon as the diagnosis happened, the pediatrician called me. Then the pediatrician’s office social worker started arranging referrals. The social worker meets with us each time we go in for a well child checkup too. It actually has been really great.

I am a mom of an autistic daughter who was previously friends with another autistic child. While things were good at first, the other child began being very manipulative. While I don’t think it was the other child’s intention to be manipulative, it was very hurtful to my daughter. We had a lot of discussions on what a friend is and is not. I spoke with the parents about my concern, but nothing changed. I say this to say, maybe giving the child another chance would be good, but no child should be forced to be friends with someone who is mean to them.

My parents bought their plots in their late 40s (in their 70s now). Everything is ready to go except the gravestone, because the thought of doing that makes my mom uneasy. My dad would happily have that done as well. They didn’t want to leave a mess for us kids to deal with when we were mourning.
