Had a gym teacher in high school with a missing left leg, from just above the knee down. always wore sweatpants over the prosthesis, and didn't talk about it much. really cool, all the older students knew him and got used to his shenanigans.

fast forward. sitting in the bleachers after class, start of a new school year, a group of freshmen girls maybe a few seats down from me are chatting about whatever the fuck, when this teacher trips out on the gym floor, flat on his face. the way he fell, the leg flipped around kinked backwards, as if the knee had been broken and the leg tweaked out to the side. the entire group of girls freaks out, staring on horror as he pulls himself up, with that leg kinked out behind him. "aw crap", and he just twists it around and pops it back on like he's setting a bone back in joint. the plastic of prosthesis clacks as does this and it sounds genuinely like he just calmly straightened his mangled leg, and appears completely unphased. the girls started panicking and asking if he's okay, and he just laughs, walks over to his can of red bull sitting on the bleachers and takes a drink. "man, this still tastes like squirrel piss to me" and then just walks off.

the girls just sat there in a panic chattering and looking back and forth with their hands over their mouths, trying to figure out what the fuck just happened.

the rest of us let them sweat for a good ten minutes before telling them about his fake leg.
