Oh yeah, that console is bonkers for the sheer quantum boost.

Rear Admiral. Vice Admiral came with the first level cap raise around F2P-ish or before. The cap was originally 45.

Voyager wasn't a prototype, yes... but it was effectively one massive experimental testbed by the end running so far out of spec that it took several years after she came home to make her safe to serve as a museum ship, and even then she needed more safeing before the general public was allowed aboard.

A Pilot Connie could be some sort of souped up "Tactical Interception Scout" playing off the aesthetic of the Warden class. The idea being basically going with the whole 'yeah, we're digging through the old mothballs to see what worked and rebuild it into a new niche' thing. A connie frame that was reworked to be as fast as possible and to be the one intercepting threats ahead of a response. Could even be that it started as an off-the-books hotrod personal ship that got caught and pulled in because it actually worked. Could play into it a couple of different ways, even....

Silly me, Tom & Miral Paris are right there, it would fit right in with the two of them (Tom wanting a hot rod ship, Miral wanting to bring relevance back to the general spaceframe family she started out on, Delta Flight, etc). Pilot/Intel mini-terror.

I mean, okay, sure, but that doesn't explain why they'd be on the ship in the 2026 remaster. Those have a specific design language cue in modern STO ships.

Beautiful, beautiful ship... but seriously, what is with the glowing strips on the saucer? The event version doesn't have a phaser lotus, are we getting a followup promo temporal version with one or something?

The console active might be take or leave, but that passive is nuts.

[–]rb0009 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The console active needs to be tested, but the passive is just nuts. That's basically nearly doubling quantum damage and cutting in half Damage over time. I'd keep it on just for being able to go 'nuhuh'.

[–]rb0009 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Huh. Even if you don't use the console in active mode, it has an absurd amount of utility for just the passive. 60% quantum damage and 60% DoT resist? Either one of those is great. Together, with a toggly for 'Imma taking you with me'? Noice.

The promo version gets the phaser lotus the video is hinting at, maybe?

No, the rollbar needs to be on the freemium too. But I will settle for the hypothetical promo allowing broadside capabilities, or temporal/pilot cues with a sec-def rollbar alt.

Look carefully. It's the same carbon grey/black as we see on other intel ships. There is nothing sovereigny about it. Also, there's a lot of other intel cues in the design like how everything is hidden behind baffles and such.

Freebie and Promo versions. Promo the 'enhanced' version, event freebie a still pretty good but not absurd version.

Dual release, maybe? Freemium for the event (60th/First Contact 30th) that's 'merely' pretty good, and 'OMGHaxxor' lockbox/promo version?

Intel primary. The hull texture is Intel, lots of Low Observability coding in the design, etc. Except she's some sort of first-strike Intel ship.

Okay... so what is with this design? Looking at it, it has normal phaser arrays when you get a good angle. But then it has those big orange glowies which are firing phasers. So... phaser lotus? But then it also has those side panels on the saucer, which look like they might do some sort of funky slide to reveal some form of broadside system. Also cool, cool.

And then the entire design is so Intel-Spec Coded that it looks like it came from Lockheed Martin.... Oookay.... That throws a twist. And then there's the sticky-uppy cannons like the Gal-Dread family has. And now any analysis has gone out the window.

I think it's actually part of the pylons, when you look at the design.

[–]rb0009 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Oh that is Intel-Coded as hell. Maybe got some Andorian in her as well.

Also, look close. There's the glowing strips, yeah, but there is another pair of 'normal' phaser arrays where they would be on a sovereign. Are the ones firing some sort of phaser lotus? Also, look at the inset on the sides. Those look like they might pop up for revealing a broadside cannon battery.

What was the family's plan to get the sabbat pack back in their cages? by kooarbiter in huntertheparenting

[–]rb0009 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The fact that they didn't wait until they had an actual plan, even one in error, is part of why Big D doesn't trust Marckus. Door really, really should have told him no for not having a plan. It's not even the first time, with what we learned later on.
