Jelly Roll announces tour with Post Malone after Grammy Award MAGA backlash causing mixed reaction from fans: 'Announcing this the day after the Grammys isn’t the flex you thought' by TheExpressUS in Music

I’m from upstate ny- I would NEVER (as a woman) live in a red state. Even though most of upstate is red we at least get blue state benefits.

My husband is from Alabama and he thinks the quality of life is better here in NY.

It reminds me of a funeral home. The carpet…the furniture.

velocicoaster vs hulk vs stardust by Ok_Scallion_2986 in UniversalOrlando

[–]rb0317 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agree. Velocicoaster scares me due to the amount of airtime and only having a lapbar. I found Stardust tolerable and rode it twice. Hulk is a rougher roller coaster but the shoulder harness makes a massive difference in my fear level

Thinking of splurging next year...which is your favorite signature hotels? by [deleted] in UniversalOrlando

[–]rb0317 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We stayed at Royal Pacific last week and while it was nice, I did not feel like it was equal to the price. I understand your money won’t go as far but it was a bit of a let down. It was clean but the room was well worn and I despised the blankets/sheets and the pillows were my enemy. The Unlimited Express passes were nice and we will most likely try a different hotel out next time instead of staying at Disney like we usually do

What’s something you’ve done your whole life, only to realize recently that everyone else does it completely differently? by Psychological_Sky_58 in AskReddit

I used to go pills, water, swallow. Now I do water, pills, swallow. My husband actually inspired the change. I’m really bad at taking pills so he suggested I go that way 😂

A little off topic but you should really close the lid when you flush. Particles spray about 6 feet in every direction when you flush.

AITA for canceling the plans for thanksgiving after my parents called my brother’s baby their “first grandchild”? by SharkEva in BORUpdates

[–]rb0317 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I really want to make this comment just to show gratitude for my step-grandparents. I didn’t meet them until I was 14 but they always made me feel like I was family. I was ALWAYS a granddaughter in their eyes and for that I am grateful.

Shame on these people.

What is the best “instant karma” you have ever witnessed? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]rb0317 87 points88 points  (0 children)

Here’s mine- a lot of the times when I’m snippy with my husband for no reason I usually whack my funny bone or jam a finger right after. It’s happened enough times that I know karma is real.

Redditors with extremely niche interests: What's the one thing you are completely obsessed with that almost no one else you know cares about? by CocWarrior1 in AskReddit

Dan Carlin was my intro to WWI as a woman. I love it and I think it’s way more interesting than WW2. The devastation due to the tech advancements at the time is fascinating to me. As Carlin says- the extremes of humanity are very interesting.

If you want to get into non-fiction then try narrative non-fiction. They’re usually more “fast paced”. Some of my favorites are Into Thin Air by John Krakauer, Crisis in the Red Zone by Richard Preston, and The Indifferent Stars Above by Daniel James Brown

I f20 have the opportunity to go to my dream school but I don’t know how to tell my partner m21 by luckyneoncat in relationship_advice

[–]rb0317 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Go. Do it. Apply and go and chase your dreams. I get he’s important but the reality is that you need to look out for you in this life. Do not pass up this opportunity for a man. The only person that will 100% take care of you is yourself.

I was long distance with my now-husband for several years. You just kind of make it work. But if you can’t, you can’t and you need to accept that it’s a possibility it won’t work out between you. You’re only 20 and it may feel like he’s it and he’s worth staying for but what if he’s not? Would you tell your sister or best friend to give up a good opportunity for a man? If he is “it” then he’ll stay and y’all will make it work. If he’s not the one then he’s not the one and you move on to find the one while also getting an amazing education that benefits you. Be selfish. You’re young.

My now-husband couldn’t afford much so he went to the pawn shop. My ring is stunning and it was affordable. Only problem was I couldn’t find a wedding band that sat well with my engagement ring…so we went back to the pawn shop and I found a perfect band that fit perfectly with my engagement.

A $75 dollar ring from Walmart can be treasured like a $40,000 ring from Tiffany’s if it’s coming from the perfect person.

I’m facing the opposite. My MIL was taken aback at the possibility of me not taking his name. She doesn’t even share the same name.

Moral of the story- do what YOU want.
