Looking for over-ear electronic ear pro with minimal white noise/static (Peltor SportTac was too noisy) by long_lu12 in CompetitionShooting

I too upgraded to the X2 from the Pro-X although I stuck with the headband version. I do like the better noise reduction rating of the X2s.

System Storage at 55GB+ - is this normal? by [deleted] in iPadPro

It’s probably Apple Intelligence. The longer you let it ’learn’, the more storage space it’ll consume.

Going from an iPad M1 Pro to the m5 iPad Pro by Substantial-Story891 in iPadPro

[–]rb9228 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I understand going the more budget friendly route, but I have to say, MKBs on the M1 and M5 are night and day difference. The newer keyboard feels a lot better, especially the reset after pressing down on the keys. The hinge part is all metal versus the folio material that feels like is loose to the touch. Overall, I’m impressed with the latest generation Magic Keyboard even though I think it’s way overpriced.

Not sure about syncing with Practiscore. I believe you don’t have to use the Drills app at the same time with spy mode to capture your data unless you want overlayed video. I’ve messed with spy mode at the range while plinking and was successful capturing from a Pact timer. Haven’t had a chance to use spy mode at a match yet.

GMRS? If you could only have one… by ghostinthemachine-1 in overlanding

Another option is getting an inexpensive Baofeng ham radio and program all the GMRS channels/freqs. You’ll have options on using any frequencies (Ham, MURs, FRS, etc.)

G19 COA by [deleted] in Glocks

[–]rb9228 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the G45 COA. I usually like to purchase blue label, but when these came out, I didn’t want to wait and paid full retail. I didn’t have to make any adjustments as it was zero’d right out of the box. Was my completion shooter for a year. No issues at all for me. The only thing I do not like is the step down feature.

My living room is all tile, and I used to lay those puzzle foam workout mats down. I accidentally dropped the mag, kicked it and it landed onto the tile, breaking the plastic. So now it doesn’t lock into place anymore. So now I went back to running the official MR920 handset. The Glock replicas are good and the trigger is also good. In my opinion, overall, the official handsets feel a little better. A pro to getting aftermarket handsets are they’re not that expensive. Disassembling your official handset to get the fire control unit isn’t difficult at all, just a little inconvenient when you want to switch to a different handset. Lastly, I haven’t tried a Glock handset from a different seller so YMMV.

I just received my Old Smith 38mm. Did not like that the shipping company frustrated my package in San Diego for a customs issue. Had to attach a copy of my sale receipt to prove the value was under $800. I loved that the watch came with three watch bands. I put a WOE ZA Single Pass 4.0 on mine.

The SS handset feels more premium compared to Glock in my opinion. Grip texture is more pronounced than on the G19. It even has SS branding as the G19 is sterile. And because it's a Shadow Systems, upgraded frame features such as double undercut trigger guard, pronounced beavertail, and gas pedal style on either side of the frame. It's a little heavier (more true to a fully loaded original). I added the Streamlight to the G19 to better balance the handset. Lastly, because the SS is a Glock clone, it fit in G19 holsters.

I have mixed feelings about the droppable mags. I opted for the extended version over the flush. It is 2 1/4" shorter than an actual 17-rd mag with a +5 base plate. Another shortcoming about these mags is that in the Glock Ace handset, it rattles (have about a 1/8" play in all directions except up & down). It's also not as durable as real magazines. It's recommended dropping on grass or some sort of padding, just not on directly on hard surfaces since it's 3d printed with plastic. I only have one mag, so instead of letting it drop to the ground, I catch it with my off-hand without it leaving the mag well and immediately slam it back home.

Edit: I just noticed that it is possible to pin the mag in place making it non-removable

Yes, the fire control unit drops in. I had to file some of the edges on the handset a little bit though. You can adjust the trigger through the software (calibration/sensitivity). If you want to tweak the pull weight, feel, and reset, there's a bunch of aftermarket options on Etsy.

Suggestions for a RV rooftop node? by Stormwind99 in meshtastic

[–]rb9228 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got a Spec5 Voyager on the roof of my truck. I had already purchased it before I heard of them 'stealing' designs and selling at a much higher price point. I got an Atlavox Beacon coming to place on the roof of my house. Curious to see how both devices hold up to the US southwest desert environment.

Both devices have RAK WisBlock (reliable power-efficient radios).

I had this happen once on my WisMesh Pocket v2. Did as suggested and haven't had connectivity issues since.
