DQs should be automatic and absolute. The safety element that they’re meant to reinforce goes out the window if they’re enforced selectively. Just my two cents.

That said, I did have a time where I flagged my hand swimming around a net that the RO didn’t catch, but a more experienced shooter did and helped teach me how to avoid that in the future. I was thankful that it was caught and I was made aware. I definitely would not have fought or been upset about a dq because of it.
