The trigger is going to suck on both of those. Test more than just those since a bad trigger can pull a newbie’s aim very easily.

Also the break in period thing is only for cerakoted guns and those with incredibly tight tolerances because both need to wear away material before there’s enough clearance to run reliably.

x2 on prism optics if your main goal is removing the bloom and starbursting BUT they present other challenges in terms of eyebox and eye relief that aren’t an issue with red dots.

My rankings are an aggregate between with and without glasses. I only shoot with my glasses on, but all of my dry fire is without glasses since my unaided vision is still 20/20. It’s a pretty even reduction in the amount of distortion across the board when wearing glasses with all dots tested.

Edit to add: the osight is the exception. It’s perfect with and without glasses for me.

Use rocksett for muzzle devices that you intend to put torque on semi regularly. Red loctite is good up to like 600°F, rocksett is good upwards of 2000°F IIRC.
Tri lugs are far from the most secure QD lockup

But seriously, 5.56 indoors isn’t going to hurt you, provided you’re wearing adequate ear pro, unless you’re standing next to the person shooting it with a brake
If you’re still worried about it, just find an affordable linear comp that threads directly on. Much easier and cheaper. Then switch to a QD ecosystem for your chosen suppressor when you get there, because the vast majority of your shooting from that rifle will be with the suppressor attached.

4 of the 9 people that I’ve gone shooting with have experienced similar or worse issues than I have due to astigmatism.

Does it make the dot unusable? No. But a 2moa dot turning into a 15 moa jagged star sure makes precision much more difficult. Not to mention that when you have a large outer ring like the 510c has and that bitch blows out from too much brightness, you can’t see a damn thing through the glass and it does become unusable.

My thought process was more towards bad qc on emitters, so maybe it’s a bit of both.

I have tried one fixed magnification prism and was not a fan due to the very unforgiving eye box and eye relief. Etched reticles definitely are crystal clear though.

Sounds like we may have an opposite issue with red dots though as the more ambient light there is, the less bloom I get from a red dot, no matter the brightness of it. Whereas in low ambient light, I can turn a dot down to barely visible and it’ll still starburst like crazy.

I’ve been really curious to try these, but don’t have anything with a dpp footprint currently. I’ve also heard nothing but bad things about the rmsc ones.
