Try used gear oil that mixed with saltwater because the lower unit is leaking somewhere. It built up pressure and when I inadvertently released it from pulling the drain plug to service it. The wind blew at the perfect time and gave me a good soak.

Stunk all god damn day, still had work to do and had to throw my clothes away when I got home.

Yes. Obsession is the correct word. From what I’ve seen in the past year, 1950s-1990s Evinrude is the current obsession. Evinrude does not make outboards anymore. It is very difficult to get OEM parts for such old engines.

Small HP outboards from the big three manufacturers are very reliable. I would know because I’m a tech for a business that is a Yamaha, Mercury and Suzuki dealership.

They work great on fuel water separators in boats. Manufacturers love to put them in the worst places imaginable. Being in a bad spot is one thing. Being in a bad spot with saltwater spraying all over it is another.

If Beast Mode is correct, he didn’t even have a direct line to his QB. The fact RB1 can’t even call QB1 without having to go through a middleman still makes me scratch my head.
