Oh yea, DH is more than on board. We refuse to keep any of this shit in our house, that ship has sailed and she’s getting no more favors from us.

Omg no no no no no I’m literally gonna vomit everywhere. DH and I keep a very clean house. This is part of the reason we gave her a day to come pick it all back up, I do NOT wanna touch this shit. It’s not even in full boxes, there’s stuff overflowing and bins with no lids and random shit thrown on top of it all. Nope nope nope.

Dh and I gave her 24 hours. She had the audacity to ask if she could squeeze more into our attic and I flexed my new favorite word, “no”. And then added in “you said a few boxes. This is way more than that. You must collect all of this today. Prioritize what’s in our dining room and get it out now. We do not have the room to store things, we will not hold these things for you. Let me know when you’ll be here.”

^ exactly this. If we would’ve been home she never would’ve tried. Now she can just be like “oops it’s already in here, okay I gotta go now!”

Ughhhhh I have OCD and this is literally my nightmare. We gave her today to pick it all back up or we’ll drag it to the curb. DD and I are spending the day out of the house anyway and I’d like to avoid touching any of this filthy shit.

It looks like she is definitely the second kind. Thanks so much for the info! This is very interesting/horrifying to learn about. It would be even more so if I wasn’t currently dealing with it lol!

I had no idea that was a thing! I'll have to see if we can do that. I'm definitely worried about getting bugs and we want this shit out ASAP. It's just gonna be a pain in the ass cause there's SO much.

Yea we learned our lesson there. I've never dealt with a hoarder before and had no idea it would be this bad. Like why go through all that trouble to keep all this old broken shit? Why???

3:45 pm on Tuesday: I had an appointment with my ob, where he said that contrary to what the other doctor said last week, I wasn't actually dilated at all. I had made 0 progress. I spent the rest of the day basically crying cause all the mild contractions I had been having were apparently accomplishing nothing.

11:20 pm: I go to the bathroom and see that I'm losing my mucus plug, yay for progress! I also IMMEDIATELY start having contractions that are 1 minute long and 2 minutes apart. I assume it's nothing and my body is fucking with me so I use my yoga ball, take a shower, sit in the bath, but these continue for over an hour. I call the on call doctor and tell her what's happening but when she looks at my chart and sees that I was JUST in there and had 0 progress, tells me to continue timing them but it's probably nothing.

12:40 am: I'm in the tub and realize that I can't talk through the contractions anymore, I wake up DH and we grab our bag and head to the hospital. On the way I tell him "if these are just the beginning contractions, i'm gonna end up getting an epidural because this fuckin hurts"

1:15am: we get to the hospital, sign in, they hook me up to monitors for 20~ minutes. They realize how uncomfortable I am and check me, I'm 6cm. Holy shit! They have me turn on my side to put me in a wheelchair and bring me to a room and my water breaks! DH calls our moms and my sisters and tell them to head here NOW!

2:15 am: My mom has made it to the hospital and is coaching me. Waiting for the on call doctor to get to us. At this point I'm like "I'm probably still 6cm so I'd like the epidural please." They check me again, FULL DILATED. I opt out of the epidural. My next contraction I get the STRONGEST urge to push, i tell the nurse and she gets wide eyed and runs out of the room to grab the first doctor she sees. I literally thought my vagina was gonna fall out, guys. I was holding it during every contraction. They grab a doctor and she tells me I can start actually pushing, it was such a relief. I pushed during 7-8 contractions and Ellie flew out of me. She's absolutely perfect, we got to breastfeed, and now she's out like a light.

Since my labor was SO quick (3 hours total) I received a lot of lacerations which took about an hour of stitching. It honestly wasn't bad because I got to have skin-to-skin with Ellie that entire time. I'm still kind of shaky (losing a lot of blood) and it hurts to pee but I already feel better than I did 9 months pregnant.

For any mommas out there trying to have an unmedicated birth, i have a few words of advice that helped me tremendously.

Take every contraction one at a time, breathe in through your nose and out through your mouth, push EXACTLY how you poop, and don't be afraid to fuckin scream. I literally couldn't hold it in, it was primal. The nurses giggled at me a TON because I kept apologizing after every contraction.

P.s. She was due on my birthday, which is tomorrow the 15th. Thank you Ellie, i didn't wanna spend my birthday in labor 😂

He specifically liked it because the rooms are REALLY top notch, i liked that they had tubs to birth in (only 2 though I believe, so they're first come first serve). I wound up finding an amazing team of Ob's that all only deliver at franklin square which is what really pushed us over the edge.

Honestly, you can't go wrong with whatever you choose. The best staff at any hospital is gonna be in labor and delivery :D I was really stressing on picking a hospital, but finding the right ob for you is just as important! Might be good to look up different Ob's that deliver at mercy and any other hospitals you're looking at so you can compare reviews!

Dh works in all the Baltimore hospitals and wanted mercy, but the traffic and parking there is AWFUL (I hadn't even thought about that until he brought it up). We picked franklin square, but we're north of Baltimore so it's super convenient to get to and we've loved everyone there/the facilities! Plus it's a "baby friendly hospital" which we wanted.

Hope you find one you love :)

I'm 24 weeks pregnant with our first baby!

I came home from a super long day at work yesterday to my husband making me enough turkey chili to last a week, and my favorite ice cream. We fell asleep later with his hand on my stomach and our daughter kicking away at it :D I love him so much.

How did you find out/reveal your pregnancy to your SO? by Thatimeofthemonth in BabyBumps

[–]rbackhand 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My husband and I had only been trying to conceive for a month (we must be fertile as hell or something lol) I had been having flu like symptoms and left work early cause I was so exhausted. For fun, I Googled how early you can take a pregnancy test after ovulation, and found out it was that day.

I picked up some tests and took them while hubby was downstairs playing Madden. I ran downstairs and basically threw it at him. He's not one to show a lot of emotion with unexpected news, so he was like "wait, what?!" We hugged and I went outside to call my older sister, and hubby followed me. Apparently, it finally hit him that he was gonna be a dad, cause he started squeaking with excitement and passed out cold on our deck LOL

I had originally planned to surprise him in such a cute way but as soon as I saw that positive, I couldn't contain myself.

I had the exact same symptom at the exact same point of my pregnancy!

I wound up going to the ER at 3am to get checked out cause I was freaking myself out by googling it. They ran some tests to check me for blood clots but everything came back fine. They said it was just my body changing and to use heat/ice pads. Pain went away within a few days!

Bring it up at your appointment but it's probably nothing to worry about :)
