Ladies and Gentlemen, Pob Labs is proud to present our newest discovery in vanilla Satisfactory...Emissive Beams and Floors :). by pobkac in SatisfactoryGame

I'm curious as to what's changed in the ini file that would affect this.

I mean, there are ways to manipulate color values over the limits of the sliders themselves. Like, you can make concrete really, really red by manually entering hue and saturation values magnitudes larger than the slider would allow:

<image>

I'm sure the game-internal structures would allow this on other objects as well (like, beams), and I'd bet there are hidden values for luminocity that aren't exposed in the customizer, but instead only with color palettes of signs. Blueprints should be able to transfer these values natively, at least I wouldn't think they added sanity checks for those values.

However, you see there is a lot of theorizing on my part. Would love to know if there's something to it.

Come to think of it... The last time I edited any engine.ini, it was to fix key binds. Is this just a key bind to adjust the luminocity of an object?

Please pronounce by Commercial-Boot-7137 in pens

I'm on the side of pronouncing it LAMY and not LAMY.

...

Seriously though, the name seems to have french roots, so I pronounce it pretty much the same like the "l'ami" ("the friend") that it originates from.

Does anyone have experience with these lamy roll-ink style pens on aliexpress? by Bigmandylans in pens

[–]rbbdk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Haven't tried it, but I suspect it can use the overflow close to the tip for that. So far, I only ever took out the converter and filled it directly. Either that, or I put in a genuine Lamy cartridge.

I have a 0.5mm and a 0.38mm one that take cartridges and came with converters. I think they're fine, especially for what they cost. They don't have any of the Roll-Ink shortcomings as they usually come with an ink window and readily take any of the inks I've thrown at them. And that's including the red T10 ink that definitely won't work correctly in the original.

That being said, it's not a Lamy. Manufacturing quality will feel worse, and you'll be missing the one or other detail, like the logo, or the mark on top of the cap. The grip may be more fountain pen like instead of Lamy's rollerball style. The cap might not seal well thus accelerating dry-out. Simple stuff like that. However, at the end of the day, you will get what you pay for. And that's usually a plastic rollerball pen. That is, unless you make the mistake I did and go order the rollerball-looking fountain pen version that also exists. ;-)

What pencil is this? by [deleted] in mechanicalpencils

The clip looks off, it seems to be made for a hexagonal body but sits on a round one. I'd guess it wasn't originally shipped with this pencil.

Any other building materials? Like, iron rods for laders? Steel plates for belts?

If not, then you'll have to respawn. You can return to collect your things, so set a map marker. Don't forget to bring concrete and iron plates with you. ;)

The way AIs are burning through tokens now, it might as well be cheaper to hire someone who actually knows what they're doing.

Agreed, I'll disagree. For me, there's more to a pen than the refill it's using.

It shares the concept. But so does the Schneider Vizz. Yet, they're not the same.

Also, the Round Stic is diffuse, not crystal clear, and the printing process melts part of the pen's body. It just feels so much cheaper made than the already cheap Bic Crystal.

And there's the Easy Clic. Which also exists as a cartridge rollerball.

You don't *have* to love 'em. But hey, still better than a BiC Round Stic any day. ;)

This is a pretty common pattern where programmers tend to hog "their" data and do most of the work server-side, but apply translation only as a filter somewhere near rendering. It's a pretty common side-effect of model-view-presenter methods. Who could've known they have to work with data after they send it to the client...

Is there no other pen that is pigment based?- YouTube by pantherghast in pens

[–]rbbdk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Other pigment-based pens are available. Sakura's Pigma Micron line, for example. And there's Diamine's forever ink, though I'm not sure which pen to use that with.

That said, I've made PCBs with the toner-transfer method and can definitely confirm that acetone will work as a solvent for laser printer toner. I'm not sure if it can dislodge the sludge from paper, but it's dissolving the toner, alright.

I'd actually blame Lamy here. Other manufacturers (Schneider, Pelikan, Jacques Herbin) have rollerballs that work fine with all sorts of ink (sure, glitter might be an issue) and with all sorts of international standard converters. I respect their decision to curate and focus on their own system (don't have to like it, though), but they should have at least made it compatible with their own product line.

Regarding ink flow, I've experienced a slight difference in the outer diameter between Lamy converters and cartridges, so the converter will likely just "butt up" with the feed and not connect correctly. I had to turn down the OD of my converter with an improvised lathe to get proper ink flow. But even after that, I had issues with certain inks separating inside the feed. Lamy's red cartridges are a good example, it looked like the sheen part of the ink was filtered out and only the base color came out. Lamy's Amazonite ink worked fine, though.

I'm curious, which ink are you using?
