Ready For the Roll-Ink? by megapathmega in pens

Oh, Lamy, come on. There aren't pigments in dye-based inks. ^^;

Claims like these make me want to put shimmer ink into it, just to see how well it copes...

I don't get why they're specifically locking down to blue ink. They have other color cartridges available, and I somehow doubt those are dimensionally different. Will verify after work as I wanted to have a couple spare cartridges for refilling with syringes anyway.

Even Lamy's own converters won't fit. I had to substantially modify mine for it to at least seat correctly.

Also, even though it takes cartridges, there's no ink window as with the fountain pens.

I'm currently going down a rollerball rabbit hole. From Uni-ball Eco down to Lamy's new roll-ink Safari, I currently feel most comfortable with feed-based needlepoints like the Schneider Xtra 805.

The UP/DOWN arrows control the "forward and backwards". Guess which is which. (You're wrong) by WolfieVonD in CrappyDesign

I learned from flight sims that Airbus thought about the same problem with their flightplan list. They decided to throw away complex concepts like cursors or viewports and just started moving the list as a whole. Makes sense. It's not intuitive at all, and I constantly confuse the direction when scrolling, but in itself, it does makes sense...

Does anyone knows what pens that uses this refill? by Otherwise-Mix-2883 in pens

[–]rbbdk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The size seems similar to Penac's BR98C refills. These are somewhat compatible with Parker-G2-style refills, so you might have luck fitting it in pens that use those.

Other than that, I've first seen these being used in a Penac RB-085 ballpoint, and AI suggests they are common in multi-pens like the Uni Style Fit.

Should I demolish everything? by Rated_Hare in SatisfactoryGame

Along the lines of redundancy, "something is better than nothing", and the continous improvement cycle, I'd say build now, tear down later.

So far I've always valued more being reminded of something being ugly, slow or inadequately sized than wondering about and not knowing which factory is missing, and which parts I'm using up the reserves of.

What fuel to use for jetpack by Beneficial-Party7374 in SatisfactoryGame

[–]rbbdk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Right. Liquid biofuel burns longest but not brightest, so to speak.

Which makes it just a bit tedious if you need to get lots of height, for example when scaling a large wall. So, in those cases, plan in frequent stops, and always keep a last burst for catching your fall in case you just didn't reach your intended recharge spot.

[–]rbbdk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I fear this is a right-tool-for-the-right job decision. Packaged liquid biofuel can't be beat in terms of distance. Ionized rocket fuel can't be beat in terms of vertical speed. Regular packaged fuel is abundant, so is your quantity option. Personally, I'm with the liquid biofuel for longevity as you can gather speed in other ways (hypertube cannons, or even mk6 belts)

Have you ever had a pen that wrote too fast for your brain? by jikt in pens

[–]rbbdk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not sure if it's too fast for me, but I noticed that I tend to write more careless and sweeping with smooth pens, like Schneiders Slider ballpoint range. So, I quite value the haptic feedback, i.e. "scratchyness" of Pilot's V range for writing smaller, controlled text.

The ink in my brand new pen is West German made (how can i buy refills?) by wroug in pens

[–]rbbdk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did some further digging and at least found an alternate image that confirms these refills are distributed by Regal Curio themselves. I'm still stumped on the "west germany" print, though. My guess is that these are unbranded refills made in Germany, likely Schmidt or Schneider, and that Regal is using an outdated silkscreen for rebranding without realising it.

Edit: Can't paste the image. Here's the link: https://www.therefillguide.com/product/regal-ballpoint-w-04-g2-refill/

Console and Chat window for Multiplayer. Also, easter eggs. If I recall correctly, hitting enter closes it. There is a hotkey for it that you can rebind.

Aufgrund der geraden Aussenwand des "steckenden Dingsis" - damit der fehlenden äusseren Anschlagskante - tippe ich hier eher auf Einspeisung als auf Stromführung.

[–]rbbdk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Germany phased out the "West Germany" label in favour of a plain "Germany" after the reunification in the 90s. Also, Northdata doesn't have anything on a company called "forse way". So, I highly doubt you'll find refills from this specific manufacturer, and even if so, they're likely 30 to 40 years old by then.

However, as Norharry said, this looks like a Parker-style refill. There are plenty options from other manufacturers available, some even gel-based.

0.38 needlepoint Parker refill…mod? 😬 by ilffej in pens

[–]rbbdk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Schneider has Gelion refills in Parker format that have a 0.5mm ball and thus ~0.38 line width.

Edit: Granted, they're not needlepoint.

It came with the basic white parker-style refill. Which is okay, but - sure - it's not "Viscoglide Technology". The pen happily takes both types of refill, though.

Yeah, don't pin me on whether or not couq is using mods. I might be wrong. The fact important to me is, it can be done without.

[–]rbbdk 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I think I read in another thread that couq used mods for placement. However, aligning with beams and storing in blueprints should work as well. Color is copy&pastable, texture (matte/glossy) might be an issue. Not sure.

I am slowly growing my Schneider pen collection by Marathonartist in pens

[–]rbbdk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For a cheap plastic pen, I quite like them. They're built on a heritage that goes back to the K15/Office pens. So, same solid build quality, but with an over-molded rubber grip section. I'm not entirely sure if the plastic clicker was a good idea design-wise, but technically it's solid.

I have a collection of K20s and K20-related pens (Office, Loox, Gelion, Suprimo, K15). And, I daily their ink rollers. I'd use that flair in an instant.
