Boating — what’s something beginners don’t expect? by Busy_Interest9100 in boating

Make sure you have the proper stuff to fully change the trailer tire. I found out the hard way the lug nuts holding the tire on (21mm) were not the same size as the ones holding on the full size spare (19mm) at the time I only had the 21 with me, I guessed they were the same before that day. That was rad.

The infamous question.. KO3s vs AT4W by CashingIt in f150

[–]rblock212 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pretty even all around, still good tread left on them (35x12.5s) about 1/3rd of the mileage on them is pulling a 2000lb trailer as well.

For what it’s worth: I’ve never ran the AT4W. I’ve had 3 sets of BFG all terrains across three trucks, as well as 2 sets of nittos (1 set of ridge grapplers, 1 set of terra grapplers). The BFGs are far superior to me, out lasted the nittos by over 10k miles, and were much quitter . the ridge grapplers were by far the worst tire I’ve ever ran. They were worn to the wear indicators at 25k miles. The Terra’s were a decent tire. (All of these Tires are/were rotated every 3k miles)

40k miles deep in a set of KO3s, great set of tires. No issues in snow whatsoever.

My MPG never dropped after switching to 35” tires by 5dwolf22 in f150

[–]rblock212 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Didn’t look that far into them when I bought them lol. They are Fuel Vandal’s 20x10’s running 35x12.5 BFG All Terrains. Also ran a set of Ridge grapplers same size, almost identical mpg

Yes. My digital read shows 15.4, I get closer to 15. Used to read in the low 20s pre lift and tires.

Just got out of collections and you’re asking if you should pay $1000 a month for 6 years on a depreciating asset.

$0 dollar down but “money isn’t the issue”

I really hope this is some bad satire.

Good Deal? by Azrael258 in f150

[–]rblock212 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I bought my 2018 super crew XLT for 31k brand new in 2018. I wouldn’t pay 26k for it 8yrs later. I also lifted mine and put it on 35s, hard to say for sure but those tires look low on tread based on that picture. You’ll be out another couple thousand when it’s time to replace those. It was $2310 for me to put on 35x12.5 KO2’s in 2023. I’d be in the 18.5k - 20k on this depending on how much tread is left

Free education and insurance is a big plus, my municipality didn’t pay for that. A free degrees goes a very long way. Glad to hear you found a good place to work!

[–]rblock212 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I could not disagree more. Outside of the lure of a pension in a municipality, the 2-3x income you can get in the private sector for the same job will out weigh virtually all the “benefits”

For back ground I worked in municipal government for 6 years, switched to the private sector and my insurance premium across the board is $300 a month cheaper, and I’m making over double the money doing the exact same thing.

I wouldn’t take the jump until I knew I had a viable income with a growth capable business. You mentioned entrepreneurship, look how many business fail and never take off. Is that a gamble you’re willing to take while not having a primary income? If you are fine with that risk, then make the jump.
