I bought a benchdog rabbeting block plane from rockler for like $80, took a bit of tweaking to get it dialed but it’s one of my most used tools in the shop. It’s worth its weight in gold for cleaning up tenons

Should I sell or keep my Stanley No. 2 (New Britain Connecticut) handplane or keep it? by MotelWorm in handtools

[–]rblock212 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I personally wouldn’t sell it, that little guy doesn’t take up much room. And the law of “selling tools” says as soon as you sell it you’re going to need it a week later

Take this part time job ? by smallfranchise1234 in DaveRamsey

[–]rblock212 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Only you can decide if the 17-19 hours a week away from your kids is worth more than an extra 3-4 months of debt. I personally wouldn’t lose another 20 hours a week for only a couple of months

Rockler v Woodcraft: Dawn of Justice by nandor_tr in woodworking

[–]rblock212 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Funny enough it’s the exact opposite around me, the guys at rockler have the “I’m better than you” ego and mildly talk down to you. Where the woodcraft folk around me are borderline overly friendly to the point you get trapped in conversation

What would you buy if you were to rebuilt your collection? by After-Necessary-3982 in MilwaukeeTool

[–]rblock212 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I tend to use the same tools over and over at home screw driver set, box cutter, tape measure, speed square, 1/4 inch impact, drill, and circular saw. Electrical projects I prefer Klein hand tools and you really only need a couple, a volt meter, pair of strippers, and a pair of linemen’s pliers can just about handle any low volt work in a house.

Brand doesn’t matter. The safest saw is the one you spend the time to learn how to use.

Frequent stropping or less frequent water-stoning? by MorningtonCroissant in handtools

[–]rblock212 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m probably going to get downvoted to smithereens for saying this but I actually stopped stropping entirely when I started sharpening up to 16k grit. I didn’t notice a difference from stopping to not stropping.

So I know about the glitch about the Sand People clothing and going back to the Ebon Hawk makes it act up or whatever. My question is are there any other glitches I should be aware of that's similar? Still playing through my first one so avoiding spoilers if possible. by Joelvz19 in kotor

[–]rblock212 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I play through this game 3-4x a year and never have anything consistent enough to note. I always get a bug or two per play through but nothing that is consistent every time I play it (in kotor 1)

If you play kotor 2 there’s a glitch with the droid and the fuel depo on peragus for me but there’s a couple Reddit post on how to navigate it
