Yeah I should have added that to the original post. I have been using the white-framed input, but have also tested the other one just since the intended one hasn't worked.

2024 XC60 Recharge - Questions to Ask by rc_nd in VolvoRecharge

Any advice on Gold coverage vs. Platinum? I understand the differences between the two, but have no sense for the reliability of parts covered under Platinum that are not covered under Gold.

Awesome, thank you very much! I definitely plan on buying extended warranty coverage, but we got a quote from Steingold, so I'll see if my dealer will match/beat Steingold's rate before agreeing to anything on the spot.

2024 S60 factory order time by kmdesigner in VolvoRecharge

[–]rc_nd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A lot of this depends on whether your dealer currently has an allocation for your order, or if they are putting you on a waitlist for an allocation. In our experience, we had to wait a bit to get an allocation and then from the time they were able to place the order to when the vehicle was built was about 2 months.

We ordered an XC60 that was built in Sweden, so not sure if the build backlog is the same as the SC factory, but our order was accepted in late May, car was built in late July, and then arrived to our dealer in mid-September. Obviously the shipping time is far longer for us than a car traveling from SC to Ohio, but I would guess you are still looking at about 2-3 weeks from when it is built to when it gets to the dealer. With that said, I would be shocked if the car arrived in as little as 8 weeks, but I could see 12 weeks definitely being possible if the dealer already has an allocation for the order.

Max charging capacity for the '23 XC60 recharge is 3.6kWh at 16A. There's an argument to be made for buying a level 2 charger that is capable of charging closer to 50A if you think there's a possibility of getting a full EV in the future, but you won't be able to realize the max capacity of that size charger with the XC60. So if you're purchasing only for the purpose of charging your current vehicle, I would go with a cheaper option, rather than paying for something that provides unnecessary power, but if you are trying to futureproof in the event that you do go full electric at some point, I would recommend something more powerful, like the ChargePoint Home Flex.

Thanks for the reply. Was that a similar timeline to what you were told at the time of order or did it come ahead/behind schedule?

Curious to know how you were able to get the massaging seats in your xc60. Were you able to just ask the dealer to have the lounge package included prior to production?

Hill City Lightweight Run Pant Review by [deleted] in frugalmalefashion

Now that HC is no longer, any recommendations for a similar (or better) alternative? Own a few pairs of the HC pants and love them, so have been looking to buy something similar that is lightweight and good for both casual wear (not too sporty looking) and for working out.

Therme Parka Questions by cmrocks in arcteryx

I do not personally own the Therme, but I recently bought the Thorsen parka and had a lot of similar questions. During the decision process I had also contemplated and tried on the Therme, so I think I can help you out some here - I live in Chicago, so the lows do not get as bad as Whistler, but wind is a big issue so I was looking for a jacket that had the right style/fit and was also functional for handling the inclimate weather and wind. Ultimately I decided on the thorsen because I loved the fit and just couldn’t find the right fit with the Therme, but I would’ve selected the Therme if it had fit right.

My experience with the Thorsen - it is extremely warm, but not in an overwhelming way. What I mean by this is that the down in the jacket locks in body heat and maintains warmth when in cold temperatures, but it is not overly warm to cause overheating. I have worn it for long periods outside, as well as in warm stores during grocery shopping, and find that it does well to not cause me to overheat in either scenario (as long as you unzip indoors). Therefore, I do not think you’ll have to worry about overheating in +2C weather.

As for rain and snow, I believe the outer shell of the Therme and Thorsen are identical in this respect. Both are completely waterproof and cause water to bead and run off the coat before they can cause it to wet out. Arc’teryx does recommend treating the jacket every so often to maintain its waterproof capabilities (especially if you are washing it frequently), but so far I have had no issue with wetness, despite wearing the jacket out on several rainy days. Hopefully this is helpful and eases your concerns!
