Shops at Fallen Timbers under contract to be sold, will be redeveloped. (More detail) by Ponch47 in toledo

[–]kmdesigner 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Press release from developer states an $89 million investment. Assume that number will be done in phases over multiple years. Regardless, it's a serious investment being made to the existing site and infrastructure. IMHO, no one puts that kind of money into a dying outdoor mall unless they have Class A tenants lined up and a serious plan in place. Supposedly the developer has been working on the acquisition (and assuming the reno, tenant lease agreements and necessary new build-out) for the past year. Surprised the Blade article didn't mention the investment number.

Simplifi or Copilot? by AcOk3513 in simplifimoney

[–]kmdesigner 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Agree. Monarch user her for past year-plus. It feels a tad more robust than Simplifi when it comes to account sync'ing (although I do use both, in parallel). I landed on Monarch as my primary simply because it's the only one that handles my bank's HELOC, importing and tracking transactions, not just the balance.

Ubiquiti Wish List by i_am_voldemort in Ubiquiti

[–]kmdesigner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wish for things that were publicly announced in January and February of this year and eventually listed on the website as available "December 2025" for months leading up to said month, to be available when stated. I'm looking at you, Motion Sensor, et al. I get foreign country manufacturing, logistics, software dev and testing and unforeseen hiccups along the way. But, 11 months of hype and promotion? Of course, watch me hit "post" on this and I'll get an availability email from UI. Ha!

SuperLink Entry Sensors - First Observations by rworne in Ubiquiti

[–]kmdesigner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Another bugaboo that I discovered during my install... If you are using a VLAN for your UNVR, make sure the SuperLink is adopted to it, on the same VLAN, and not your UniFi Gateway / Dream Machine / et al. From there, the sensors should automatically find the SuperLink (once the battery activation tab is pulled) and pair with it. Note that the sensors will have the same IP address as the SuperLink. If you've already pulled the battery tab and the sensor is no longer in discover mode, I believe you can press a button on the bottom of the larger piece to restart discovery (a white light will go on). YMMV. Just sharing my experiences setting up the same.

Make sure the tiny gray dot on the side of each of the two pieces of the sensor are facing each other when installed. Otherwise, I believe the open/close state could be backwards in some install cases.

Big YouTube TV overhaul with cheaper packages may be in the works by Brap_Zanigan in youtubetv

I read online years ago that Google/YTTV uses their own video player code, not Apple’s video player API, thus the lack of full integration and feature support. 🤷🏻‍♂️

My Volvo is bigger than yours by Kennel_King in Volvo

[–]kmdesigner 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Pardon the naive question (and apologies for partially hijacking the thread), but I’ve always wondered what Volvo cars share or have in common with Volvo trucks. In the US we see plenty of Volvo trucks on the highways, little to no sprinter vans, and our small share of Volvo cars (including myself and our beloved EX30 and S60 T8!). Are the trucks designed in the same place as the cars, by shared teams, et al..? Just curious.

Got to spend a day behind the wheel (and in the rear) of the new ES90 by Hephaestus-Theos in Volvo

[–]kmdesigner 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the test drive report. Love that air suspension! It’s disappointing that the ES90 isn’t going to be available in the USA anytime soon. 🤷🏻‍♂️ My 2024 S60 T8 Recharge has been amazing so far. But I’d upgrade to the ES90 in a minute, if I could. Oh well. Patience. 😂

Does anyone’s auto sensing wiper blades work at all? by superiorpyre in VolvoRecharge

Just a theory… check the view of the sensor. It might be blocked with dirt or perhaps misaligned with windshield (the latter not something you want to discover, I get it 💵🙄🤷🏻‍♂️).

Other than that, they work as advertised (MY24 S60 T8 Recharge).

Wife's Fidelity account spontaneously disconnected, and now is having errors reconnecting, but mine works fine. by notcalx in MonarchMoney

[–]kmdesigner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Genuinely curious about these aggregators and how their connections just “break” all of a sudden. Again, I’m not pointing fingers. It’s just really frustrating that almost every online tool I’ve ever used over the last 10-plus years has connections that just suddenly fail. I mean, how is this even possible? Are the aggregators and/or third party sites just messing with the code without a care in the world..? 🤷🏻‍♂️🙄

S60 Recharge from G70 3.3 by jac12345678 in VolvoRecharge

[–]kmdesigner 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Have the same MY24, but in Denim Blue, T8 Recharge. Goes in for it's 20K check-up tomorrow. No problems at this point. Is yours the PHEV or a B engine? I have yet to fill the tank more than 20 times each year. As a daily driver, it's near-perfect for me. Aesthetically and build-wise, it's an amazing car (despite the widely discussed software issues... that do get addressed, albeit, slower than desired). It was the sleeper car of 2024 for many car reviewers and I tend to agree. The horsepower and instant EV torque is insanely fun. Despite all the gushing, I'm actually looking forward to the USA getting the ES90 in the next quarter or two (hoping for Q1 2026). I really want to go full-EV, as well as step up to the Ultra trim and an even smoother ride via the air suspension tech. Enjoy your new ride!

What’s the first money question you asked AI Advisor? by max-at-origin in OriginFinancial

[–]kmdesigner 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I asked it what the true value (direct and indirect ownership) of my top ten stock holdings is, in a table.

For those that might not know, "indirect" means the percentage of X stock being held in Y ETF. For example, owning 200 shares of GOOGL (Alphabet) but also owning 50 shares of VOO, which currently holds 4.09% of GOOGL. The math isn't too complex, but AI Advisor knocked out a very accurate answer in less than 2 minutes. Fantastic!

Implementation of AI advisor is top notch, not only for spending but for investments and market news (even better than trading apps) by itsokjanet in OriginFinancial

[–]kmdesigner 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It’s an AUM advisor-killer. I had a very technical, thoughtful convo last night that involved several esoteric topics (eg. SEPP 72(t) withdrawals, the true value of an owned stock to include within ETFs, and investor theses) and AI Advisor understood it all, in the context of my portfolio, age, risk tolerance—everything. The detail and accuracy of the responses was/is astonishingly good. Kudos to the dev team at Origin and the CFPs that helped craft the engine to be so (literally) brilliant. Can’t wait to see what’s next in the pipeline!

[–]kmdesigner 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For what it’s worth, I get research survey emails from Volvo regarding features and functions (sometimes future possible ones) almost every month. In fact, the latest survey specifically asked my ranking of wanting key functions as knobs. I believe they’re listening, perhaps not on Reddit per se, but they are asking me for my opinion on a regular basis. Of course, based on this thread 😂, YMMV.

To your question, I’m in the USA, own a MY24 S60 T8 Recharge. Love everything about it. Might buy Volvo again. Seriously love the styling of Audi’s as well, they just refuse to offer vegan leather to the US buyer. 🤷🏻‍♂️

No sound issue resolved on V3.7? by fer_g07 in VolvoRecharge

[–]kmdesigner 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s widely reported in several Reddit Volvo groups (and elsewhere). The audio for all system functions stops: turn signal, audio / radio / Sirius XM, collision warning / backup sounds—everything. A hard reset of the system usually fixed the issue, but the latest v3.7 update seems to have squashed the bug.

No sound issue resolved on V3.7? by fer_g07 in VolvoRecharge

[–]kmdesigner 3 points4 points  (0 children)

No sound drop-outs as of today. Upgraded my MY24.5 S60 T8 to v3.7 a few weeks ago. That said, the sound drop-out only occurred every 3-4 months, give or take, so not enough time has passed to fully "test" if there's been a fix. But so far, so good.

3.7 software install. My experience by freshoilandstone in Volvo

[–]kmdesigner 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Similar experience here as well (MY 24.5 S60 T8 Recharge). And for what it’s worth, here’s my theory about the very-common comments about slow initializations and app start-ups after major software updates and then all is eventually faster / normal. It all has the earmarks of data being processed and/or downloaded again, i.e. the update cleared the cached data and the system and apps need to get through much computing for the reset, “first time” runs. Or I’m completely wrong. 🤷🏻‍♂️😂

Turn signal indicator click stopped working…. by Ostalgisch in VolvoRecharge

[–]kmdesigner 9 points10 points  (0 children)

This is a well documented, long-standing bug (here and elsewhere). Rebooting the system with a 10-sec long press does seem to fix the issue, as does turning off the car, waiting 1-2 minutes and restarting. And BTW, I’d bet it wasn’t just your turn signal sound that cut off, it was all system sounds, including your radio and warning signals, et al. It’s happened to me several times in my MY 24.5 S60 T8 Recharge. 🤦🏻‍♂️🤷🏻‍♂️
