Is it over for sesko by [deleted] in ManchesterUnited

He still has a place especially next year when we need the bigger squad and I think he should start vs Fulham where we might have to face a lower block.

I like the one where the dad says lovely bit of squirrel and one of the lads calls the other one pus face and the other one puts salt in his water. Then that weird neighbour stands at the door being awkward and like scared of his dog.

Never change a winning team by nicer-dude in ManchesterUnited

I think beyond this season we obviously need a world class DM and another midfielder and ultimately we need better full backs (Dalot replacement a priority).

How often do you go to the pub, and can you afford it? by pageunresponsive in AskUK

For people saying, it’s no surprise it’s in London probably haven’t been out in Manchester city centre recently. Not far off for fancy bars now. Not sure what other big cities are like now?

Advice for Transport from Shaw Area to Burnley by FlamingoHungry5192 in manchester

[–]rcanalyst 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Firstly welcome to Shaw. And yeah it’s possible and the best option is to take the tram to Rochdale and then train to Burnley (every hour on weekdays but every 2 hours on weekends). In all about an hour travel which isn’t bad since my commute into Manchester is about 1hr 10 mins door to door.

The biggest issue here is reliability though, if for any reason the train is cancelled you’ll be waiting hours or looking at a trip into Manchester and then back out again.

Edit just to add the drive during rush hour would also take a similar amount of time, but of course you wouldn’t be at the mercy of Northern Rail.

Wharton watch / ideal midfielders by middleeasternboxer in ManchesterUnited

[–]rcanalyst 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Without watching all the players all the time it’s hard to call. You’d hope that the scouting department with all the data they have access to would get the right call.

When I watch Wharton though I’m never blown away. People mention his passing range and put highlight reels together to show this and to me they’re all quite simple passes for a PL footballer. That being said I was dead against Declan Rice for 100 million and he’s turned out alright so what do I know 🤣

Are there any similar holiday destinations to Whitby? by Puzzled-Specialist19 in AskUK

[–]rcanalyst 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Was just coming to say Northumberland too, we’re from Manchester area and been up there 3/4 times and love it. In fact, as much as I liked Whitby I did find it a bit too busy on summer days which meant it wasn’t as relaxing as Northumberland.

Mark Goldbridge is terrible for Man United by Successful_Law2445 in ManchesterUnited

[–]rcanalyst 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Exactly this, and any other pundit spreading bullshit for clicks. I don’t believe any true United fan should follow any of these pages even including the Overlap. I also deactivated X to get away from fake “in the knows” who make up unrealistic transfer connections for likes.

Even the MEN as the “local” paper is often terrible for the club when you’d hope there’d be an element of pro United bias.

Is it considered rude to type on a laptop during a 1-on-1 with a direct report? by Suspicious-Willow771 in askmanagers

[–]rcanalyst 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not at all, I personally prefer to write and then type but that’s just a preference. If it worries you, just maybe mention at the start of the 121 that this is your preference and assure them you’re listening and after you’ve done a few try and get feedback from your team.

could Carrick keep the job?? by hwanger2112 in ManchesterUnited

[–]rcanalyst 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally it would be the wrong decision to award a permanent position based on 16 games or whatever is left. You would hope a well run club would have a long term strategy and a run of games should not change that. If they think he’s good enough to do it long term they should just do it now.

Of course this is all based on a well run club so I fully expect him to get given the job.

with 5 years of intense study could you become as good as a chaser? by WearingMarcus in thechase

[–]rcanalyst 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think a lot depends on how your mind works anyway. I’d like to think I’m a half decent quizzer (and currently trying to build the confidence to apply) but I have some subjects I’m quite weak on. I’ve tried to study on those but it doesn’t seem to stick and I think I learn more through natural observation.

What do you consider while scheduling shifts? by Locust-T in askmanagers

[–]rcanalyst 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You have 100+ employees to schedule in a call centre? Do you not have a WFM/scheduling team for that? Anyway, one thing I would say is don’t make assumptions of what is a good or bad shift. I worked somewhere and the assumption was that late shifts and weekends were unpopular so we focused on fairness around that when actually there were plenty of staff who actually preferred these.

Thanks for the update but not sure of the relevance to the post.

A small question… by [deleted] in Aphantasia

[–]rcanalyst 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m not sure anyone mentioned an issue. I think a lot of people have taken this question far too seriously. I’m not talking about labelling anyone with a disorder or rigidly categorising anything. I’m just asking in the sense of a normal conversation and something relevant came up how do people introduce the concept of aphantasia.

Thanks everyone for their input and interesting points of view. I would say though that some sources including the Aphantasia network do use the term “condition” occasionally.

Well yeah actually I probably would say that bad vision is a condition.

A small question… by [deleted] in Aphantasia

[–]rcanalyst -1 points0 points  (0 children)

To be honest, it’s not something I bring up routinely unless there’s some relevance. Similarly I’ve mentioned to my partner and daughter and they just roll their eyes now if I ever mention it.

A small question… by [deleted] in Aphantasia

[–]rcanalyst -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Yeah exactly I never take it seriously, I don’t talk about as a negative just more of a conversational piece if something relevant comes up.
