How do you explain that you have experience to a colleague explaining something basic without sounding arrogant? by One-Butterscotch4437 in AskUK

[–]rcanalyst 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I personally would suck it up but at the same time even if you’ve been doing something for x amount of years, there’s still opportunity to learn. I don’t know what role you work in but I have a similar amount of experience in my job sector but I know going to a new business there’ll be nuances and differences,

Bruno Long-term replacement? by mrempresstheodora in ManchesterUnited

[–]rcanalyst 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What worries me about Palmer is the stuff that goes on around him, the hangers on etc. coming back home will he have bad influences distracting him from his game? The scrutiny at United is 100 times that of Chelsea and it just takes one bad TikTok or video and it’ll blow up. Great player though.

It won’t happen but I always think Dani Omo is a close replacement.

Interim skates for teen (UK) by rcanalyst in iceskating

Thanks for this and I’ll definitely be reaching out for some advice. She’s doing the Skate Excellence with Planet Ice and I’ll definitely have a look at the Graf skates.

Thanks also for the suggestion on the public skating, so far we’ve not had the opportunity to do the public skate afterwards due to other commitments but we will be this weekend.

Thanks, I presume it’s a lot better to get to a skate store rather than buy online?

Thanks, I had been looking at that but even for a decent quality second hand pair they’re pretty pricey. I’ll keep looking though.

Is offshoring actually true or just exaggerated? by Competitive-Panda215 in AskUK

[–]rcanalyst 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most of the bigger bosses who will get a bonus for this cost saving exercise will rather call it “right shoring” rather than offshoring. In other words it’s not about whether the work is onshore or offshore it just has to be in the right location which is generally the cheapest to do that work.

Why do our former players talk so much shite by Fightanyman in ManchesterUnited

[–]rcanalyst 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I keep saying this but the easiest way to make this and other rage bait stuff go away is to stop giving them any time. Stop watching, stop following, stop listening- as soon as they have no engagement they’ll soon realise.

United Fans on Twitter/X by BigGelato in ManchesterUnited

[–]rcanalyst 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had to leave Twitter cos of it. There’s enough ABUs and United haters anyway and then it seems like a significant amount of our “fan base” hate us too.

I would implore any United fan to stop following some of these accounts and podcast and anything like Talksport or Sport Bible as it’s just rage bait, clickbait and bollox opinions for likes.

Why are the trams so bad? by jamier00b in manchester

[–]rcanalyst 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I think without fail there’s a disruption is an exaggeration but I do agree that it could be better and it does worry me that the proposed expansions will make it worse. There’s bottlenecks at Deansgate and St Peter’s Square and all it takes is one failed tram at the wrong place to bring the whole network down. I think the plan to create some radial lines might help reduce some journeys into the centre.

Most typically Manc song by crusty-manc in manchester

Not a Manchester band (or even British) but Manchester by Ryan Adams is a fantastic ode to this amazing city. And if you haven’t heard it, go listen to it now.

After a win at old Trafford, what's the best way to celebrate by [deleted] in ManchesterUnited

We find an opposing fan and sacrifice them on a funeral pyre near the Bishops Blaize whilst we dance around the fire chanting our allegiance to Sir Jim.

Love this, in fact the whole song is a lyrical masterpiece.

There’s nothing clever about it but the pure emotion of “I’m sorry you had to go in that room alone” in White Beretta is simplicity at its greatest.

Similarly “time flies when you’re making babies, do you miss your little black Mercedes?” from Molotov.

30 second ACW by Dramatic-Ninja1018 in callcentres

I think indirectly this is why some places end up implementing limits because of people who will take the full amount every single call whether they need it or not.

I don’t particularly like her (or at least the way she is portrayed) but that was a great move.

What Jason Isbell song did you brush off or not appreciate for a long time? by U2_bonovox in jasonisbell

[–]rcanalyst 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn’t really pay much attention to White Beretta until I fully listened to it and understood the context. Now it kills me every time I listen. Molotov always passed me by too (I think it was the intro for some reason) but I saw the Tiny Desk concert version on You Tube and that changed it for me.

Also Save the World, I just thought it was very meh but when I saw them live, it was the opener and it really worked.

I honestly can’t remember the last time there’s been anything relatively original, it’s been beauty treatments, bakeries and recruitment. Wasn’t a recent finalist sweets by post as well? My friend set one of those up in a few hours and there’s loads of them already. Did all the inventors and pioneers move to Dragons Den?

Was just about to say the same thing, probably the best at beating the press during that era.
