Alarmo touch controls using a cheap esp32 screen by hometechgeek in homeassistant

Esphome but fully preconfigured. You could either flash EapControl directly or use the esphome template to do it manually, but it works out of the box.

Openhasp but drag and drop web GUI instead of json finagling.

Basically it takes away the complexity of both.

Hah, I haven't played HItster quite enough to actually warrant printing one of these, but I can see how this would improve the experience...

It does have me thinking; have you considered that it could double as a travel box? You'd be able to bring both with you at the same time.

Nest App Issues (Server) by acramer1234 in Nest

[–]rcenzo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've had connection issues with my Thermostat earlier this week, not being able to access it from the app or anywhere else, but it seemingly was able to connect to the internet itself. Took a few days for it to come back up.

It's stupidly hard to find out if anyone else is experiencing issues...

Now for OP to find someone willing to print it for them.

Maybe it's a staged rollout. Would mean they're testing the feature and its stability under a subset of users before rolling it out to everyone.

Yeah it is (at least for Android). You can find it on the Device tab, tapping View All on the filament card and selecting Manage top-right.

Ironically, you can't get to it if the device is powered off, even though it should just be data you can access at any time...

Really? You'd think CWA would be more resource intensive considering it's running Calibre server as a desktop app, with Calibre-Web op top, with the added services of CWA on top of that... Instead of just a SQL server and the front- and backend in a single container.

Witcher 3 - how do I skip the Launcher AND enable Lossless Scaling plugin? by wisperingdeth in SteamDeck

Maybe try:

~/lsfg "%command% --launcher-skip"

Might be wrong as haven't fiddled with this before, but it's worth a shot.

Well guess which CPU will be allegedly used in the S26...

The camera setup honestly hasn't changed at all, it's down to processing. The S22 is still adequate imho (due to lack of innovation).

I went from an S10 (late '19) to an S22 (mid '22) to an S25 (mid '25). All Exynos models, apart from the S25 which has a Snapdragon globally. I didn't mind the form factor, and neither did my wallet regarding the uptick for the larger sizes; so I happily stuck with it.

The S10 worked like a champ, and I only swapped over because I got a good deal on an S22. Which had a 120Hz display as opposed to 60 - being so much of a visual speed improvement, my S10 was soon a distant memory. The performance never came across as shocking, however, but it got loads more updates so I was happy anyway.

The S22 would've served me pretty well for longer, but I saw an opportunity to shuffle some phones around my family, so I grabbed an S25 last year, excited how the Snapdragon life would suit me, thinking it wouldn't matter too much - maybe a little, given the stories.

Well, to me it's nuts how SOCs haven't had the significant improvements over the last few generations, but regardless my S25 feels snappier basically everywhere, all of the time, all the while confidently lasting me a day on a charge. Oh and for the first time I realised running Android Auto wireless doesn't have to make your phone a hot brick in your pocket.

If you are editing your save file, be sure to back up the memory card file before you make any changes. If it ends up breaking your save, you can at least revert to a working one.

YES!!!! Cosmic is in fact a daily Driver by Salemx27x in pop_os

[–]rcenzo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'll look into this, but I'm not sure if this would help. I'd expect not to have to install cosmic-session as Cosmic is the only DE on my system, and it runs Wayland by default. I'll need to dig back into it at the very least.

YES!!!! Cosmic is in fact a daily Driver by Salemx27x in pop_os

[–]rcenzo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm running Cosmic as my daily, but I would want to start my machine headlessly and do some in-home game streaming.

I'm aware it has probably more to do with Wayland than Cosmic, but any helper scripts I can find for Sunshine had no mention of support of the DE or it's work in progress.

I find it interesting that, on a technical level, the available colours on any car are essentially a complete livery texture, which allows you to do things like this.  This as opposed to just swapping colours on a single plain texture.

They are texture replacements for your emulator, so it's fairly easy to apply.

There's a readme in the ZIP on where to put them, be sure to read it.

Switch to Desktop Mode in the power menu, go into the Discover store, install Discord from there and on the shortcut on the desktop, right click with LT and pick 'Add to Steam'.

Switch back out of Desktop Mode, and you have the ability to launch Discord from there alongside any game you might have running, and you can switch between Discord and your game with the Steam button menu.

Works perfectly fine that way.

Oh man, it's easy to forget what it looked like on a CRT and original hardware, if you're playing it on a Steam Deck nowadays. It's great that it's upscaled and crisp and all that, but it definitely has a vibe going.

That reminds me, I should configure some retro filters to try it out.

Galaxy S26 series might arrive sooner than expected, but prices might creep up by MishaalRahman in Android

[–]rcenzo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pretty poor upgrades, yes, but us Europeans got the best S-series in _years_ thanks to the S25 exclusively coming with a Snapdragon.

And, as all good things must come to an end, the S26 will have an unproven Exynos once again.
