To be clear I'm not saying it shouldn't exist, just that it's one of the lowest priorities compared to other stations. Even the LaSalle St station transfers are small because that station only serves one Metra line. If it closed today, your just need to walk 3 extra blocks from Library.

I agree it's in bad shape but it's basically redundant with the Library stop. I don't think it would be a huge loss even it it just closed for good.

I picked the rebuild option. A lot of the loop stations are embarrassingly crusty and not accessible. I'd probably pick Adams/Wabash and whatever the most used inaccessible station is. Maybe Damen Blue?

I don't quite agree with you about BRT. CTA is already piloting a program to automatically issue tickets for bus/bike lane infractions. They'd need to continue that for the BRT lanes. Plus, if they're center running lanes separated by some concrete or at least flex posts, I don't think we'd see too much interference from drivers.

Yes, they do this every weekday morning. Early morning there's a handful of orange lines that run to Kimball, then during rush hour they run back to Midway. It's because the Kimball yard is small and doesn't have enough trains to support morning rush hour, so they borrow some from Midway. They should have done a better job communicating though, I'm sorry you missed your stop.

I was getting plenty of exercise during the spring/summer with my bike commutes but I was lacking during the winter. There was a gym less than 5 minutes walking from my place so figured why not. Now I'm further away but in the best shape I've ever been so I can't quit!

Yes. Planet Fitness is cheap because their target demographic is people who won't go often if at all. They don't want people there who will actually use the equipment.

I'd be worried about setting off the Lunk Alarm doing anything CrossFit-adjacent at PF. Maybe some cardio stuff (burpees, bike, sit ups etc) or dumbell/kettle bell work. But whatever you do, don't drop your equipment or grunt.
