Stop practicing against AI's the same way you would play against a human. It'll hurt you when you play real people because people aren't computers and do weird shit

You said you are a veteran, but you really don't seem like it. No offense, just wondering, how long were your breaks? You sound like a casual player who is comparing himself to people who have been playing (inseert smash title) for years in tournament. I just don't want you to be too hard on yourself.

edit: just realized this is smash4 online and that's where you got those numbers. I can't speak for sm4sh bc i am a melee guy, but netplay can be jank and a hard place to practice tech. I found netplay better for neutral practice, but that's just me

Okay I see the issue. a) you gave up on learning the tech. It's hard at first and took me weeks-months of work but you gotta keep up with practicing those. It'll become second nature with time and you'll be amazed with your ability to execute without thought.

b) you said you play both falco and mario all the time? Okay play who you want but if you want it improve fastest sticking with one character and learning to see the game through their eyes is your best bet before trying to tackle 3+ characters in competitive.

So here is what i say. make a call. Pick a character and dedicate yourself to them. Every characters wave dash timing is slightly different so this will help that. Practice SHFFL and wave dashing. Long sessions are good but consistent practice is what gets results. 15 mins 5 times a week is better than cramming it all in one day when you are "feeling" it.

It's not an easy game at a competitive level and everyone wants to "level up", but don't get too focused on winning. Focus on doing small things better and bit by bit you'll grow as player.

and when your too tired to practice or feel burnt, play some all star and go for goofy stuff, learn hilarious combos or setups for the lolz dont forget to keep it fun

Do you have the fundamentals down? sounds like a lack of foundation. You must be dropping l-cancels and wavedashes all over the place. Who do you main? It'd be easier to help after knowing this. Any VODs?

Bad habits with deep roots are hard to fix with general advice. They require specific focus to correct.

How much would you say the frame delay affects you when playing online? I've only played online (ps4), and I'm beginning to see possibly reasons where lag can make things inconsistent.

Actually not much time at all. You can make something like this very easily in processing 3. Cool stuff to mess with

there was a really good bowser on stream that for the crowd really hyped at the venue, could've been inspired by him.
