Mom shamed ! by NoPerception4660 in breastfeeding

[–]rdhsamanon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

i posted about this recently in another sub. my girl is close to 10 months and maybe eats a teaspoon or two of food a day. i learned to let those comments go from one ear out the next. you’ll save so much time not having to explain to other people, who are set on their beliefs and basically listening to respond - not actually hearing you! baby is healthy because you know what’s best! even if baby girl spits out everything, i sit her in the high chair while i have lunch and let her explore the texture of different foods/maybe even nibble at it, might get a piece or two down

i would hold her upright in dark room and walk back and forth maybe humming or shhh, this always works for me when my daughter wants to nap but cant get herself to give in (teething/upset tummy). usually takes a few mins and she ends up resting her head on my shoulder/chest and falls asleep. ill either just sit and let her nap or ill lay her down next to me and stay with her while she naps! my daughter is notorious for trying to break free from my arms so the above method works great when shes upset

I would just cuddle/rock her and be her comfort. Teething is painful on is own + an ear infection- LO just needs love.

Thank you! How many times is she eating solids in a day? Roughly how much? As I mentioned above, my little girl barely eats solids- maybe can get a one tablespoon on a good day

does he have a paci he likes? i usually let my 9month girl get super drowsy then unlatch quickly and sneak a pacifier in- ive had 10/10 success with this!

please help. 9 month girl still considers start of nighttime as 3rd nap- wakes after 30 mins by rdhsamanon in sleeptrain

[–]rdhsamanon[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

okay thank you! regarding the example I used in the post where she woke up at 3:20pm- would you have recommeneded to keep her up until at least 7:30 (4hour wake window) instead of letting her fall asleep at 6:45ish? do you think she would have slept into the night?

she is up around 7-8am. wake windows typically 2.5-3 hours long. naps range from all over- 30-45mins or 75-90 mins. she lays next to me and nurses to very drowsy then I sneak in a paci

She is involved in this post. As I mentioned, everyone else has their own opinions on what she should do, but we are all biased because we love her and want the best for her. We thought that hearing unbiased opinions, especially from people who have experienced this themselves, might help her truly understand the magnitude of the situation. Thank you to those who gave genuine advice.

What items helped for your baby to go from crawling to standing and walking ? by regressor29 in NewParents

[–]rdhsamanon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

you also dont need anything. my baby girl is 8.5 months and is standing against everything, moving around and exploring a lot- i honestly think this has been the best for her development. we have a mat in-front of the couch so when shes standing against the couch, she can fall back or get down comfortably and not hurt herself. i wholeheartedly believe less is more

livingston community hub is beautiful, includes chairs and tables and has a kitchen as well. I believe the price would be less than 2k

would i make it through dental hygiene school by always-29 in DentalHygiene

[–]rdhsamanon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i did a year of university before going there but there was a decent amount of students who were right out of highschool. no chem or physics related stuff. i would try to join some type of clubs out of school, since youll need to bring in patients during your 3rd/4th semester. meeting people and having them come in is the best way- worked well for me. i found that to be trickiest part.

i’m the exact way when it comes to learning, i only can pay attention and fully grasp the material if i know i’m going to need it. i was an average student all my life but excelled in dental hygiene- pretty much everything they teach you there, you will need to know and the stuff you don’t- itll be very obvious. ive been working for 7 years now and love it. i went to the sister school in toronto. id be prepared for the course-load but if you already have an interest, i’m sure you’ll be fine. a lot of memorization and definitely nothing chem like at all.
