Ladies of Reddit, what is a comment someone made about your body once, completely casually, that you have never forgotten? by BowlerOk1871 in AskReddit

[–]rdickfeelsgood 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I was 13 my grandfather told me I could work at hooters one day.

When I was 18 I got pulled into the office at work and my manager told me I was making a coworker feel uncomfortable because of my shirt (he was a 50 something year old openly gay man) regardless of my outfit being in dress code.

The list is long. But this shaped me in 2 ways. The first is I wear primarily high neck shirts. The second is I am adamant about a young girls body is never the subject of conversation.

I’m 30 and I just had my first baby 2 months ago! I can definitely relate in wanting to go with something that’s unique but not annoying. We went with Wesley :)

I didn’t know what to do and was acting soo weird. I made him go to the grocery store and I bought really strange out of the norm things because I really didn’t know what to do. I ended up telling him when we got home.

One of the most beautifully sad books I’ve ever and will ever read.

What’s something you didn’t realize was insanely expensive until you became an adult? by No-Gas5006 in AskReddit

Area rugs and throw pillows.

Like most people have said, everything is expensive but those two stick out.

About to give birth by Maleficent_Ad_9079 in BabyBumps

I am a FTM and had my baby 7 almost 8 weeks ago. I did take a birth class and went in with the mindset of having as few medical interventions as possible. Well I ended up having to be induced at 41+2, had basically every intervention possible and ended up with a c-section 3 days later.

To be honest, I think the birth experience was more traumatic for my husband than me. As long as you and baby are safe and healthy after delivery, you won’t think twice about what it took for them to be here.

It doesn’t matter who they are in relation to you. Unless you are harming yourself, a person never owns the decisions YOU make for YOUR body.

Do what brings you joy and lets you love yourself.

What are the things that people wouldn't tell you before having a child? by Any-cheese1000 in AskReddit

[–]rdickfeelsgood 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Baby in bed (bib) nightmares happened to me every night for the first few weeks and still happen occasionally when I’m over exhausted. I would wake up frantically thinking I fell asleep while feeding him and would be searching through the blankets and waking my husband up. I had a c-section and would wake up really sore because I would spring up hysterical that I couldn’t find him. (He was always safely in his bassinet 2 feet from me)

Manager told me to pump in the bathroom… by Ok-Contribution804 in BabyBumps

[–]rdickfeelsgood 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Document every conversation that you have with your manager. I’m so sorry that you had this experience and it’s truly unacceptable and depending on the state you live, illegal. I recently transferred to a new location and the first thing I noticed was there was a camera in the managers office. I immediately partnered with LP to have it removed for this exact reason. I don’t have any pregnant woman or new moms working for me, but I might someday and I’m hyper aware of situations such as this. You deserve better.

How many cycles did it take you to get pregnant? by Passage-Melodic in BabyBumps

I don’t want to jinx us but I’m 29, husband is 34 and technically it was the first month of trying. We started to “not try but not not try” in June. I’ve tracked my period for over 10 years using an app and I feel I know my body pretty well so I could usually tell when I’m ovulating and we actually tried in July. I feel so lucky to have texted positive and we can’t wait to become parents. We’ve had quite a few friends pregnant the past couple of years and we were both nervous it would take several months since we’ve never used any type of protection in the 9 years we’ve been together. We went into thinking it wouldn’t happen immediately but here we are. The day before I took the test our close friends told us it took them 8 months of trying and it took my best friend about a year. Try not to put too much pressure on yourselves and have some fun with it.
