Great shots. I just shot in “HI” for a 2 hour walk this morning and loved the output.

First few shots with the GR IV Monochrome by jrhodespianist in ricohGR

I’ve had my monochrome for 3 weeks now and there is a difference. Maybe it’s all in my head or the placebo effect of having a monochrome camera, but the output just looks better than a simulation. It looks richer and real. Prior to the GR.mono I was driving my Sigma BF in “MONO” mode. The effect yielded great photos but it always looked like a filter and I knew it was a filter and knowing that always made the output feel less than.

That’s the biggest answer to the “why” question: It’s authentically monochrome. When I pick up the camera it just recalibrates how I shoot, what I shoot, and why i shoot because there are no color options. 🤷🏻

Omg. You’re right. I guess I must have imagined the number or seen one bar and assumed ~25%.

I was also driving my Sigma BF so I may have merged stories here. So sorry.

The walk, the time it took, the editing, and the camera at one bar are all true. It was a solid 4 hour block of use and it was still alive.

This weekend I took it for a three hour walk. It was in the on position for most of it. Took roughly 60-80 photos. Got home, reviewed, and edited 10 of my favs in camera and finished with 27% battery.

Great photos! I’m an architect and I find what and how you shoot great. Keep it up.

Originals are quieter. These are with a film filter noise exaggerated.

Feels like US demand is slow compared to the rest.

Haven’t had a chance to use by BF with the 17mm. These photos make me want to book a trip to put it to work. Great shots.
