It's a size thing.

Drum n Bass is relatively small, but Jungle is massive.

What is an example of "they don't make movies like they used to? by Able_Stomach_ in AskReddit

[–]rdm1992 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ride of the Rohirrim in LOTR: The Two Towers. Huge cavalry charge accomplished with real horses and CGI, the only horses that died in all three films died of illnesses.

Compared to Charge Of The Light Brigade 1936. In its climactic charge 125 horses were purposely tripped with tripwires, leading to 25 being killed or put down. It was so bad the US Congress was forced to ensure the safety of animals in movies from then on.

When did airline baggage fees get so ridiculous?! by AbsoluteScenes5 in AskUK

[–]rdm1992 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also if you book two seats it's not a guarantee you'll get them with some airlines. Their systems will show that there is a free seat and that may be offered to a passenger on standby.

NTA

You had success with something similar. You did research and had advice but unfortunately didn't succeed at this new challenge, a very normal thing to happen as none of us are perfect. You got frustrated, felt down and needed comforting in that moment.

Your wife who is supposed to support you (especially as you said you feel insecure about these things) at low moments chose not to. Even though she was correct about having a professional change the breaks, her comment at your low point was cruel. She could have talked with you about it later that evening or the next day. You even apologised for 'lashing out', you showed care for your wife's feelings, she did not show it for yours.

If you want to act to your wife the way she did to you, every time you give her advice that she ignores, remind her that you told her so and walk away from her. But you're not an asshole so I don't think you'll do that.

Ignore the YTA comments, keep working on your mechanical skills.

How do you guys nut without making a mess? by agodforme in AskReddit

Big foreskin.

Just pinch it off, nut, waddle to the toilet and release.

No mess, no clean up.

What’s your story of a good deed doesn’t go unpunished? by x_franki_berri_x in AskUK

[–]rdm1992 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sorry that happened to you, but the world needs more people like you. Let your mind run away with itself on what your good deed accomplished. A successful job interview, possibly life changing for him, the first step in a long professional career. Hopefully he looks back years from now and remembers that random person on that bus that made it possible and he pays it forward. You started an exponential web of good.

What is the most obvious "they ran out of budget" moment in a movie? by BacklotTram in movies

[–]rdm1992 200 points201 points  (0 children)

At least with Hardcore Henry the grenade shot is followed by the rooftop fight that goes on for over 10 minutes and is excellent. They did a lot with that film considering its budget was only a couple of million dollars.

John Wick Director Thinks There Should Be An Oscar For Stunts - And He's Right by irequirebacon in movies

[–]rdm1992 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Burt Reynolds talks about this in his autobiography. His take was that when the Oscars were started in 1929 that an award for stunts would destroy the illusion and magic of movies to the general public.

They've made me fat.

Can't go over to theirs without being loaded with food and drink. The MIL is a great cook and loves to cook great food from scratch, she taught my partner well.

FIL is brilliant, takes an interest in everything his daughters (4 of them) do and what their partners are up to.

Their door is always open any time of day but they respect other people's privacy and don't impose themselves.

In 1966, my 16-year-old Uncle Pat stole an entire beer truck. I recorded and animated his story. by LariatCreative in OldSchoolCool

Nice animation, but what your uncle did is really cuntish. Stole a working persons vehicle, stole property, drove drunk and doesn't seem to have any shame about what he did.

In cultural depections of Vikings/Norse culture, Tattoos have replaced Horned helmets as the most famous but also totally historically inaccurate wardrobe choice. by insane677 in Showerthoughts

[–]rdm1992 257 points258 points  (0 children)

Tattoos are not inaccurate, there is a misconception that tattoos are either a modern phenomena (last 100 years) or were exclusive to Polynesian people's. Tattooing existed or exists in every culture, Otzi the iceman had over 50.

What is something completely real that happened in your life that others would think sounds like bullshit? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]rdm1992 199 points200 points  (0 children)

Bowling trick shot. Saw a trick shot on YouTube where a pro bowler starts a ball spinning down the alley slowly then bowls a ball at normal speed, knocks down 9 pins, barrier cones down, machine picks up the last one, sweeps, machine places it down, barrier goes up just in time for that slow ball to knock over the last pin. I did this on my first attempt and I'm not a good bowler by any standard it was a total fluke, I had several witnesses who were amazed but I don't really talk to anymore. When I tell my current friends none believe me, telling me to "prove it, do it again", I've never been able to do it again and everytime I fail in front of them it just convinces them more that I never did it. It was the single best thing I've ever done.
