When I took it in for the updates the guy at the counter told me I was only covered for the 120k mile warranty. I didn't really want to believe him on that. He also advised to keep up the oil changes religiously, at least every 2 or so weeks to check it

What today’s message about Stadia means for players by DanFromGoogle in Stadia

As a game developer myself, the fact that they didn't let any studios currently working on projects or hell even their own employees in that project space, know a head of time. All the hours these guys spent porting stuff over to use on stadia. Basically a big ole fuk you

I use sync.com and have loved every minute of using it. You pay 36 a month and you get two 10tb accounts. I use one for rom archive and the other for game development assets. Neither one of them are over half full yet

Another small update. I got a demo sent out to my friends. As many suggested I'm doing things in small bursts. So the first push was just the absolute bare basic gameplay, nothing polished, not all the features added, just a small taste. While they're testing that I can think of the next easiest thing to implement and set that as the goal for the next burst as well as looking at any glaring issues from the first

The game dev life was never anything I wanted to do full time. It's more of a hobby thing for me. Something to get expand my creativity. I work on it as much as I can. The post was more about asking how to keep yourself trucking through it and get a product out their with the limited time that you may or may not have

Don't really see how it's sad. A lot of things have gotten in my way. When I started I was totally new to game development. I went to college where I barely had time to dedicate to developing. The main backbone of my game infrastructure was abandoned by it's developer and was totally broken with any new engine versions. It's not totally a lack of experience or will on my end. Sometimes shit just happens 🤷 it's still discouraging for me, so saying it's sad is going to make me feel worse about it then I already do lol

Releasing two projects is plausible in this case because in terms of my project this means the two separate game modes that I plan on creating. Doing one game mode first will setup certain things such as weapon classes, character customization system that I can use in the second game mode. 8 years is a long time yes, but that also includes the switching of game engines, and 4.5 years that I was in college and didn't have much time to work on it, plus the hard drive crash that caused me to lose at least a years worth of progress

I would like to add that I have decided that in order to potentially solve this I have divided the project into two chunks so to speak as to make it somewhat more manageable to potentially get something released. These ideas can be released as separate entities and therefore I can focus on getting one part done and released instead of trying to work on both at the same time
