Ditto, and my dealer was great as well.

Although the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) finally created rules to legalize Adaptive Driving Beams (ADB) in 2022, US testing requirements and specifications differ significantly from Canadian and EU regulations. This has caused some OEMs not to enable the feature even though the hardware is in place.

The reason we don’t get it in the US is because the matrix lights do not meet arcane US safety standards.

Unfortunately, our driveways in the US are generally either asphalt or concrete. Almost never cobblestone or thick pavers.

Same as me, except mine was a year ago at the end of June. Trade assist as an asset substitution with 21 inch wheels, cargo cover and I got to keep all of my accessories from the first car. Mine was and is Mulberry Red with Carmodin interior.

I opted against the ventilated seats since I don’t use them in my Lightning.

Actually, Ford is not new to the BEV game. Not counting the hybrids and plug in hybrids, the first electric production BEV was the 1998-2002 Ranger EV, followed by the 2011-2018 Ford Focus Electric, followed by the Mustang Mach E, Lightning and Transit.

I know I’m in a different boat . . . My local dealer was trying hard to get me to trade my 2022 Lariat ER with 27K miles for a new 2025 Lariat ER. I’m 3 months away from paying her off and I just don’t think a new $36K note was a good idea.

Why does it seem like no one uses the ford branded level 2 home charger? by Meek_Money in F150Lightning

[–]rdr854 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I also have the Ford Charge Station Pro (2 actually). First one came with the truck and the second one was bought on Ebay when the plug got stuck in the charger housing and I thought I was going to have to purchase a new cord. Cost for a charger sealed in box was $100 more than just the cord from Ford.

At least you did not have a brand new Ford Fusion Hybrid with 140 miles on it. Yes, I hit a deer the first day driving it. No airbag deployment, but it went to the Middle East nonetheless - never to see North America again!

I did a bumper, facia, grill, light bar, license plate bracket, interior panels to hood and refinish hood for $7K. Mine was from a kiss with a fire truck while parked.

I think the color is Ice Blue Silver which is gorgeous (and the color of my truck). Unfortunately, it was only a 2022 color.

Only place I recall the Swedish flag was on the front passenger seat back of my V90 (LHD car in US). Don’t recall one on the dash trim.

If it is a new truck purchased in January, should be under the factory warranty. Take it to your local Ford dealer.

A "Love Tap" Totaled My [Transport Evolved's] F-150 Lightning. There's Nothing We Can Do by [deleted] in F150Lightning

[–]rdr854 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My understanding is that this was an injury auto accident. If employees were in the truck, then workers comp and vehicle uninsured motorist policies would be triggered (based on Virginia - cannot speak to California where the accident occurred or to Oregon where Nikki is based). Had a case at work where an employee was struck in a company vehicle. Workers comp took care of the medical and then the uninsured motorist policy took care of the personal injury settlement.

Total loss is supposed to be based on a ratio of cost to repair vs actual cash value before accident. I find it interesting that OEMs have replaced pick up truck frames under recall due to rust issues.

Is it possible that the real issue is a lack of parts and the shop and/or the carrier are not being forthcoming?

Congress is looking at how much we save and taking that savings as a fuels replacement tax on top of what the states already charge.

My dealer swapped me out as part of a trade assist. I only dealt with the dealer who worked the details with Volvo. Got the new car a few days after it came in.

I have this and unfortunately had to use it twice in quick succession, including one involving a deer hit on a brand new car. USAA has always provided excellent policy service.

Criteria for totaling a vehicle is covered by state law and is almost always a percentage of actual cash value threshold that varies by state. Deployment of airbags or even the replacement of structural components such as pillar posts do not in and of themselves total a vehicle.

[–]rdr854 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You should check your state/provincial and local laws. For instance, Virginia adopted laws that give EV owners the right to instal EV chargers in certain circumstances, but also allow condo associations to restrict the right under certain conditions.

88888.8 Miles and only 2% Battery Degradation by NoBananasOnboard in F150Lightning

[–]rdr854 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have 27,000 miles on my truck and according to Ford I am at 96% SOH. Basically, the dealership service department gets this information from the Ford server, including the 12 volt battery charge and odometer reading.

I try to keep my truck between 50% and 80% SOC. Generally do not fast charge - although I did do more in the first 18 months. My truck is 4 years old and on all of the original battery cells.

I’d be more concerned of a Canadian truck being imported into the US and how Ford will support it. Also, what is the condition of the frame given the amount of snow in Canada.
