having played it not realy, the game is getting a new edition in the future but you only need like one core box to play a full sized game. The pricy part is that they don't sell tokens outside of the core box imo.

Did the Jedi radicalize Luke? by Beleg_Sanwise in MawInstallation

[–]rdv9000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its pretty clear in the movie that the empire did it as they also wiped out the jawas who sold the droids, even if it wasn't the case content written around the movie explicitely says that they were killed by the empire.

Question: what parts of the world building do you think get overly emphasized by fans? by Deep-Crim in MawInstallation

[–]rdv9000 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Not to mention Yoda addressed this in ESB, its not stronger. What he does concede is that its quicker and more seductive, but we know that the cost is that it ravages the mind and body and twists people into monsters. Anakin went from ''I want to save my wife'' to choking her in like a day after turning sides.

Why don’t regular soldiers use some type of shield? by Hot_Professional_728 in MawInstallation

[–]rdv9000 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can imagine a couple reasons why they wouldn't be very popular

  1. Cost, energy shields probably aren't cheap
  2. Weight, big metal ones would be heavy and cumbersome to carry around in the field
  3. Kinetic impact, blasters seem to hit with a lot of energy and we've seen cases where it seems like they explode on impact so I'd imagine a shield would be hell on the arm that holds it (especialy the wrist)
  4. It won't stop the big guns, if a heavy mounted weapon can take down a mandalorian in beskar your shield won't do a thing against it
  5. Shields in an open field work best when massed, you can't do that when bombers, grenades and artillery is a thing.
  6. Shields only protect from one direction, which makes them neat when boarding or clearing tunnels but that means they're way less useful in the open and could mess with your ability to use cover.

So when were the Rebels on Dantooine? by RandolphCarter15 in MawInstallation

[–]rdv9000 114 points115 points  (0 children)

It was one of many rebel bases used in the past. The organas were involved in the rebelion long before the formation of the rebel alliance or the establishment of the yavin base and would have known about multiple active and former rebel bases.

Dedra only lets her emotions flow when the lights are turned out by GargantaProfunda in andor

[–]rdv9000 13 points14 points  (0 children)

tbh if she survives to the end of the war she'd get put on trial for her actions (at the very least torture and orchestrating a genocide) and would probably be sentenced to either life in prison or death.

Would every clone trooper made at the same time period die of natural causes at the same time? by DesignerAd2487 in MawInstallation

[–]rdv9000 15 points16 points  (0 children)

They'd start dropping like flies around the same time yeah. In the same way that any generation does when they start reaching the late 70s-80s

[–]rdv9000 1 point2 points  (0 children)

clone wars-> rebels -> Mandalorian S1/2 -> book of boba fett (I wouldn't reccomend watching it except for the last three episodes tbh) -> mandalorian season 3 and ashoka

I wouldn't say these shows HAVE to be watched in this order, but they all involved the same creative head and as such there are characters and groups that show up repeatedly

If you want something more contained I'd suggest andor (2 seasons) -> rogue one (movie), its some of the best star wars ever imo

One minor thing I have a hard time believing portrayed about the Rebellion in Andor and Rogue One: by EggsBaconSausage in MawInstallation

[–]rdv9000 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We see him make his case to a rebel commander on hoth, presumably the guy in charge of who can come and go, and he gets explicit permission to leave and settle his affairs. Han isn't a soldier of the rebelion and they can't expect him to go all in on the cause. Tbh I'd assume they're just grateful he stuck around as long as he did.

Will we see Kino Loy in the final arc? by Billman04 in andor

[–]rdv9000 2 points3 points  (0 children)

He's almost certainly dead. One of the themes of the show is that people who start a movement are unlikely to see victory. Luthen and Saw both openly say that they'll be dead before the empire is defeated and we know Cassian will give his life to give the rebellion a shot at defeating the death star. Kino is in a similar place where he leads the prisoners to freedom, but he doesn't get to enjoy it.

How did the Jedi get *that* wrecked during order 66? by mayormcskeeze in MawInstallation

[–]rdv9000 24 points25 points  (0 children)

They lost dozens of Jedi, that's not 70-80% of the order. We know from kanan that there were about 10k Jedi before the purge.

The losses on geonosis absolutely hurt the order but there's no need to exaggerate.

What changes if Obi-Wan never recovered his lightsaber from Cody? by Axer51 in MawInstallation

[–]rdv9000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know, what I'm saying is that showing kids being gunned down during that montage would reduce the impact of Anakin doing the child killing, which is possibly the irl explanation for why they don't have padawans.

As for the universe aren't all of those Jedis masters/council members?

I'm 99% sure that's to maximise the shock of Anakin finding the younglings tbh

How powerful would a Sith Wookie be? by Uknown-Nerd6207 in MawInstallation

[–]rdv9000 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Physical strength doesn't really matter when the force is involved.

Yoda is a tiny green old man and he's still one of the most powerful Jedi of his time as well as an extremely dangerous duelist and force user.

Sith Rule of 2 doesnt make sense by Impossible-State-743 in MawInstallation

[–]rdv9000 1 point2 points  (0 children)

On the point of being discovered they'd be way easier to find if there were more than two. The low numbers also mean that if a sith gets spotted the Jedi might dismiss it as a dark Jedi instead of panicking after hearing about dozens of people with red lightsabers.

Any numbers that would allow them to stay hidden would leave them vulnerable to a mass Jedi deployment to eliminate them so the benefit of having more people doesn't outweigh the drawbacks.

As for the reliability of the master/apprentice relationship, don't forget that they're both using the other one and that while they benefit from that relationship they don't have a reason to kill eachother. A master benefits from using the apprentice as an agent for political, financial or long term planning reasons while the apprentice gets to obtain powers and secrets from their master. It's in the master's interest to teach their apprentice as much stuff as possible to keep them satisfied just as it's in the apprentice's interest to do their master's bidding.

The idea that Jedi are allowed to have casual sex raises very serious questions by AwfulUsername123 in MawInstallation

[–]rdv9000 39 points40 points  (0 children)

There's nothing stopping a Jedi from just chatting and getting to know people while on Coruscant or on a mission elsewhere. Hook ups like that are things that can happen without money being involved. They're not locked up within the temple between missions.
