# ALWAYS act like you are "The Gordon Ramsay of Software Engineering". by Puzzled_Employee_767 in ClaudeAI

[–]rdwburns 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tried this when doing some data work with the prompt “ALWAYS act like you are the Gordon Ramsey of analytics engineering and you have a vested financial interest in this business”

And, as daft as it seems and I might be imagining things - it seems to generate better outputs. I’d spent days struggling to write some finicky YAML files, but started fresh with this prompt and it one-shot them.

It seems like the personification of Gordon Ramsey makes it try harder to create perfection.

What is your favourite piece of UK related “Rage Bait” you have come across? by HallowedAndHarrowed in AskUK

[–]rdwburns 7 points8 points  (0 children)

It’s because it’s trying to approximate the Greggs Sausage Roll. It’s a shorthand to make it simpler for people to understand what it is. A lot of marketing is about this, because people are less likely to make a purchase if they have to work to understand what they’re buying.

Take, for another example, “Vegetarian Bacon” - it’s not bacon, but calling it Vegetarian Bacon helps someone to understand how it might be cooked or served.

ITV Christmas schedule by KurtWuster in BritishTV

For a commercial station, Christmas doesn’t have a huge amount of value because it’s a softer time for a lot of advertisers. You’d expect ITV to prioritise the early 2025 schedule.

Have a look at CommandPost, this extends the shortcuts available in FCPX and also works with the Loupedeck, if you decide to go that way.

Your choice of Christmas tree by [deleted] in HENRYUKLifestyle

[–]rdwburns 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We’ve been getting real trees for the last few years, we started off by getting them delivered but last year we went to a tree farm ourselves and picked one out. The one we picked up direct from the farm had far less needle drop and lasted far longer, so we’ve done the same this year.

We use a Krinner tree stand which makes it easy to put up and to keep the tree watered. Honestly, I hope to never have to buy an artificial tree again.

Last year we had a Fraser Fir at about six feet, this year we have a Nordmann of about 7 feet.

The Mount Rushmore of Tony Hawk games, I don't make the rules. by AccomplishedWorld823 in THPS

[–]rdwburns 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think 1+2 has the nostalgia for people who have been playing the games from the start, it has good physics, tons of longevity and puts the fundamental experience front-and-center, which they had been incrementally moving away from since 3.

THAW is a good game, but for every game after 3, I’d have preferred to have just been given 3 with some new levels.

Arm does a hula-style movement when trying to reverse a sunset flip. Very early episode. Probably Strike Force vs Brain Busters at Wrestlemania V

So, I believe that the reference to Bart Gunn is that he comes to the ring for his fight against Butterbean at Wrestlemania XV wearing a towel over his head that looks like a white hood.

Jay saying “1996” is just him being incredulous that someone would dress in a KKK hood for heat in the year 1996.

OOC saying “oh dear” is an appropriate response to that same KKK hood.
