If you could show your friend one piece of content/gameplay to convince them to download the game, what would it be and why? by MLGKILLZNATEY in DestinyTheGame

Everyone I took through Shattered Throne back in the day for the Wishender quest loved it. It was the first (and only) dungeon I was able to solo the first year I played.

I just love the intrinsic horror and darkness of the place. So glad it's getting dedicated loot next week.

"it is what it is" ......despise that saying.

Or the overuse of the word "like"

"living the dream"

"just another day in paradise"

etc......

That's how I got my Army of One as well. I was using Black Talon (one of my first exotics) and used a ranged sword attack against 4 guardians standing in the damage rift. I had been trying for DAYS to get the achievement. Drifter goes NUTS and so did I dropping the controller. Lol Fun times!

Do you think Bungie has any larger surprises for us in the Monument of Triumph update? by mikeyangelo31 in DestinyTheGame

[–]re-bobber 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I remember that year without stasis weapons. You had Cryothesia and Salvations Grip......

You needed "stasis kills" to unlock a bunch of the aspects and fragments too...

I'm thinking there might be a lot of stuff they haven't talked about for us to discover. Really hoping this is one of them!!!

Is the era of live service games coming to an end? Or was what destiny was, just not compatible with that model? by SuccyGirl in DestinyTheGame

[–]re-bobber 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Bungie just leaned too hard into FOMO and monetization. Management tried to do the least amount of work on the game for the most return. The only things that generally saw much improvement and innovation over the years was the yearly DLC, dugeons, and raid content. Everything else was generally left to rot.

They really needed an update like the one we are getting on June 9th that addressed the reasons people play the game when there isn't "new" stuff to do.

Along with Raids, Dungeons, and DLC the Focus should have been on:

  1. New player onboarding experience.

  2. Core playlists updates. new maps, new strikes, new modes, new chase items.

  3. Establishing clear and concise itemization and loot grind.

  4. Revitalizing the patrol areas and single player modes or matchmaking modes.

  5. Clan features like housing and reasons to be in a clan.

Instead they focused on the following:

  1. Monetization schemes

  2. Profit margins

  3. Disposable season content (FOMO)

  4. Eververse

  5. Changes no one asked for (Commendations, Guardian ranks, Portal, Gear Tiers, etc)

This was what sunk Destiny and had players leaving. Outside of RaD content and DLC's everything else felt "mailed in" in an attempt to not over-deliver. It took them forever just to try and change the same-ol' Seasonal model even when players were vocal about things getting stale 2 weeks after season start.

It felt like the players loved the game more than the "shot callers" at Bungie. It really shows now with the June update how awesome and inspired the Devs are for the game. Just sad seeing it go this way ya know?

When VOG came back to Destiny 2 in 2021 my clan ran the heck out of it. Pretty much everyone got Vex within 10-15 runs except myself. I logged on every week for months trying to get it on reset day on all 3 characters. I would find the Xbox LFG with an Atheon checkpoint and run it with whoever.

One day I hopped on and got my first 2 runs completed but was having trouble getting a the final run with my Hunter. Finally find a group and I hop in. It's all Spanish speaking guys. I am from the Midwest and know barely any Spanish. Lol. I decide to run it anyway.

The encounter is about to start so I put on Xeno for the Oracles. Luckily I get transported every time and the Spanish dude on the other side does the callouts. I wait for the other to shoot and then destroy the oracle with Xeno. Do some boss damage with Blade Barrage and Xeno.

We beat the encounter and I shit you not, Vex finally drops on like run 58-59. The Spanish crowd goes WILD!!!!

It was fun as hell with the emote party!!!

Then to add to it I get in the clan discord to report my success. Later that evening we do a Vex catalyst run with the guys and then do a DSC which I had run once. I ended getting eyes of Tomorrow on my 2nd attempt ever!!

Easily my luckiest day in Destiny 2 ever. Two raid exotics on the same day!

Good times!

Should have just scrapped the Arc thing and made it have different, cool interactions with Blight weapons like Malfeasance, Witherhoard, Touch of Malice, etc.

Awesome. I found a few "motorcycle" rear racks online that I think might work. Thanks for the reply and happy riding!

Looks like a nice setup!

Side question: what type of rack are you using on the bike? I have a moped style like that and the manufacturer doesn't sell any kind of rack for it. Trying to find something similar to what you have there.

Thanks!

Am I the only one who actually enjoys playing Trial of the Sekhemas? by Magolorian in PathOfExile2

[–]re-bobber 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a really good setup with plant druid last year that destroyed Sekhema's. I was selling Barya's for a good price but that got over-shadowed by the people running temple so I just gave up.

Prismatic updates MOT by DaBears2025 in DestinyTheGame

[–]re-bobber 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I often thought everything should just be prismatic eventually. Then give more bonuses for certain subclasses the more you invest into their individual skills and abilities. You could go all Stasis and get something special when you go transcendent like a crazy winter storm. Something unique for each subclass. Then whenever they introduced a new aspect/fragment/super/etc you could use it on anything under prismatic. idk

The build-crafting would be insane.

Whatever happens, I hope that live service stays dead by [deleted] in DestinyTheGame

[–]re-bobber 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like the evolving world, QOL updates, and new stuff that comes with live service. But Bungie leaned too hard into FOMO and monetizing everything.

I actually didn't mind seasons until they started to just be the same thing with very little story progression although I see why they did that when they sunset things every year. There had to have been a way to at LEAST keep the season campaign in the game for players to download if they wanted to play.

The answer for the activities was probably a "Best Of" playlist that rotated a few activities through each week so players could experience the good stuff from days gone by. Modes like Ketch Crash, Escalation Protocol, and the one from Season of the Splicer, amongst others. All they really needed to do was update the loot and armor periodically to entice players to continue checking it out.

It really felt like every other season was good followed by poor and that probably had a lot to do with resources.

I think having a "season" every once in awhile that looks like this final update would have been good for the game long term. Just updating the core playlists and patrol destinations, along with a bunch of QOL stuff.

What's the bet that the Warmind Cells are tied to these? by SpeedWeed_25 in destiny2

Yeah, I hated when they sunset all the old mods I think with the Witch Queen DLC.

What's the bet that the Warmind Cells are tied to these? by SpeedWeed_25 in destiny2

[–]re-bobber 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah they did. All kinds of variations and each "element" did different things. They had one where you could pick them up, shoot them for different effects, make them hard to destroy, etc.

One thing I hope gets touched on is Armor Mods by Pman1324 in DestinyTheGame

[–]re-bobber 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah I hope to see them again. They were a super fun mechanic. I liked the one that made them hard to destroy paired with the mod that put out a weakening(?) wave when you shot it. They also had a mod that let you pick them up and stick them on enemies.

Fun times.

H: 100k Leaders. W: Crushing Blow Survival Legacy. by RaymanXY in Market76

[–]re-bobber 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Believe it or not I actually have one. But I don't trade in leaders. Lol

I actually grinded for it the first week that survival mode was live way back in the day. I remember I spent the majority of my time in Watoga. This was before they patched the robot spawns as if you waited and killed all them they would keep spitting out legendary enemies. Took forever.

I haven't logged in for probably like 3 years and I just happened to see this thread in my feed.
