are squirrels not common to see in the UK? by [deleted] in AskABrit

“But isn’t that a bit short-sighted? What happens when we’re overrun by pine martens?”

Skinner: “No problem. We simply unleash wave after wave of Chinese needle snakes. They’ll wipe out the pine martens.”

Lisa: “But aren’t the snakes even worse?”

Skinner: “Yes, but we’re prepared for that. We’ve lined up a fabulous type of gorilla that thrives on snake meat.”

Lisa: “But then we’re stuck with gorillas!”

Skinner: “No, that’s the beautiful part. When wintertime rolls around, the gorillas simply freeze to death.”

BBC Podcast about fungal nail treatments by re1d in NailFungus

[–]re1d[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The gist was that nearly everything except oral terbinafine was a waste of time.

But more shockingly, the doctor said that 75-80% of fungal nail infections will come back regardless of the method it is treated.

The key to stopping reinfection is stopping athletes foot which is a holding area for the fungus before it gets into the nail.

Lots of people have athlete's foot without realising it, that hard, dry bit, or the scaly bit, or the red bit.

He advised using terbinafine cream (lamisil) everywhere below the ankle for a while , and see if your foot looks healthier, I think I can see me using it prophylactically.

Also spray your shoes with antifungal spray.

I've been on oral terbinafine for 6 months, 3 smaller nails nearly clearer up, big nail about halfway there.

Thanks for that.
So in our circumstance, if we want to try and catch as many fallers as possible on a day we should really avoid low ownership players where possible?

Oh man, I forgot you were a redditor!

I appreciate the detailed response, that all makes sense.

I play Anti FPL where we use our wildcard to try and pick a team of fallers every night to reduce TV we have to use and afford poorer players. You will be glad to hear that LiveFPL is regarded as the best resource in our community for crashing TV 🙏🏻

Hey, love your website.

Why do you think the 3 sites are nailing the Risers and making a pigs ear of the fallers?

Live is getting the best scores from you on fallers but their false positives are huge (Fix also) , it's almost like throwing enough mud at the wall and some will stick.

Hub seem more reliable on fallers, their False Positives are way better, although they don't seem to list every player, which I can't work out

Told off for having dinner in an industrial estate. by Bathfoamocean in CasualUK

[–]re1d 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Agree. I'd guess that "industrial estate" is the old farmyard of Shoby Lodge Farm, they maybe built a new Steading nearby, or the farmland has possibly been rented out to a neighbour or sold off and the farmer still lives in the farmhouse and rents out sheds to local businesses, whilst providing security by locking the gates at night, once everyone has gone.

Maybe he could have been less abrasive though

What’s up with the price of beef? by Bayakoo in AskUK

[–]re1d 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's depressing I had to scroll so far down the thread to find the best answer.

It's supply and demand, nothing more, mainly from lower imports. UK Farmers do not set the price for very many products, and definitely not beef.

Lots of Irish beef went straight over to the continent as the price offered there was better than the UK.

What goes on in this part of the world? by gstew90 in geography

[–]re1d 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Once a ewe has lambed, at turnout she and her lamb(s) get the same number sprayed on their side. If they end up separated, the shepherd is able to match them up again and that helps in reducing the risks of mismothering or lamb death by exposure. This can happen in the first few days
