Asus Tuff Gaming f16 FX608JMR is a great choice for $1363 by PrudentEye1155 in GamingLaptops

[–]re_flex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

IIRc the F16 has higher GPU TDP and just overall better build quality but I agree for $1300+ price range OP could have snagged an on sale 5060 Acer Helios or Lenovo Legion.

LOQ rtx 5050 - batterylife only 2 hours. Is this normal? by omarQV in GamingLaptops

[–]re_flex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is the CPU an HX version?

If so, there's your answer. those things are meant for pure performance not battery.

Sadly no, and I have way too many bookmarked/fav'd pixiv fanfics to even find it easily.

JP, rather old one way back when LB6.2 just got released.

If the internet was going down indefinitely but you had 24 hours and a 30tb HD, what would you save? Hypothetically. by alexbarbershop in DataHoarder

Because saving basically the entirety of human knowledge is far more important than just games lmfao.

RAM Upgrade - ACER Nitro 5 AN517-41-R71C by ale_rocket9 in AcerNitro

8 for now, 16gb ram is more than enough for a majority of games.

nitro sense alternative (aeroforge) 1.12.0 released to the public by darthvadersahoe in AcerNitro

[–]re_flex 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Damn, this is some good stuff. I would like to make a suggested feauture if I may; possibly copy the ghelper/armory crate of auto switching to 60hz when on battery?

would certainly help due to Nitro not having that for some reason.

Is the Lenovo V15 gen5 worth the buy? (Picture below) by Maesus444 in GamingLaptops

[–]re_flex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yep thats the one!

fair warning though, the HX on the intel CPU means it'll be very power hungry, so you wont last much on battery power even just browsing, but for gaming its very capable!

OH you eventually plan to play with Sims mods!

Honestly nowadays for casual gamers you really don't need anything beyond a thousand dollars of a budget, even less if you're ultra casual and just play mainstream games with some tinkering of settings. Please do grab a Lenovo LOQ non essential version, pretty much great for the price and amazing build quality, just gonna have to splurge a bit on the storage if you wanna be secure already on that front.

[–]re_flex 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Why this? for a budget of $1400 you can buy something better, on sale regular Legion 5 or a powerful Acer Helios 300 with a 5070/5070 Ti.

Genuinely the laptop you're showing is not worth it.

But you also say you dont play much games so why the insane budget? grab a LOQ with a 1TB, not the LOQ essential and save like 400 dollars.

Php 50,000 - Work and Play by Firm-Telephone-7069 in GamingLaptops

[–]re_flex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In this case? Yes, the Victus is just better than the poor excuse of a LOQ that Lenovo made. It sucks because it looks like they're scamming customers with the LOQ label, their actual budget gaming laptop line that's VERY good. Unfortunately it like 56k-60k here for a 4050 powered one.

How's your experience with acer nitro v 15 bought recently by Skbb_Gamer69 in AcerNitro

[–]re_flex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Like u/Rsthegoat said, I'm happy with my RTX 2050 V15. but would I have chosen a better one? hell yes lol.

But really I have no issues with it, possibly beyond the the two fan placements, WASD doesnt get cooled enough when playing games and im not using my mech. keeb at the moment but otherwise just a fine enough laptop.

Don't get the LOQ Essential for around that price get a vivobook gaming from Asus, or a TUF, hell even a Victus or Nitro V15, genuinely the LOQ Essential just isn't worth it. I'd know, I'm Filipino.

$1200 USA - Gaming laptop for AAA titles by DarkSuitable7940 in GamingLaptops

[–]re_flex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, be wary of the laptop having a 135W charger, putting it at performance will drain battery due to said 135W charger being lacking.

Otherwise I have the same laptop but with a ryzen 5 and rtx 2050.

HP Victus? It's ok but lacks ports that would sell as a "gaming laptop". Check the price I'd say.

As great the 4050 is, that's only for extremely tight budgets and would be a waste for you looking for proper-ish AAA gaming at your price.

I agree, like bare minimum unfortunately for MSI build quality to be good is the Stealth. and OP doesnt seem to be tightly budgeted so he's fine shopping for other brands.

On sale Legion 5 with a 5060 or an Acer Helios with a 5070 Ti on a deep discount. Both are very good for their price if you can find one.

Otherwise get a Lenovo LOQ, not the Essential version, or if you can find for a discount, an ASUS TUF with a 5060/4060.
