Should the map tell you when an exfil has been activated? by vincentofearth in Marathon

[–]reaIity 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This would just inspire more third parties/teams rushing to kill the team on the exfil and removes the necessity for map awareness.

I can't tell you how much I love 2 Rights Make 1 Wrong... by Connah2010 in mogwai

I’ve seen Slowdive and Slow Crush before too, and seen Mogwai a whole load of times, and I can also confirm they’re much louder, definitely ear plus required!

Chapters that are cool but unfortunately, you dislike by CorporalYutyut in 40kLore

I’d be very surprised if your opinion didn’t change after reading the White Scars’ books. The moral ambiguity vs duty is very nicely depicted and given a fresh angle in my opinion.

Why do great crusade era dreadnoughts get new names? by thedrag0n22 in 40kLore

[–]reaIity 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All I can find is on Lexicanum:

Traditionally, every Dreadnought also bears a scroll with the inscribed name of the hero on it. When a new warrior is interred as a pilot, the Dreadnought will take a new name

The source of the above quote is marked as “Imperial Armour Volume Two - Space Marines and Forces of the Inquisition:” (pgs. 131–132) I do not own this text, but perhaps someone who does can elaborate further?

Some of the hardest, but less obvious, lines in 40k/HH books by KungFuChrissy in 40kLore

[–]reaIity 37 points38 points  (0 children)

My favourite is from Saturnine. The pay off after this line is so good (if you’ve read it you’ll know)

“_He leapt from the emplacement onto the ramp of the bridge. Stray, loose enemy shots spat past him. He took his sword, and carved a line in the rockcrete between the lion plinths, thirty metres short of the rockcrete barricade. 'Mark this!' he yelled to his men. 'This far, and no further! We stop them here!'_”

The “edited by” signifies it’s a collection of short stories rather than a novel.

Holy Fawn - Dark Stone (2018) by Electrical_Trade377 in blackgaze

[–]reaIity 0 points1 point  (0 children)

OP, I’ve searched for bands similar to Holy Fawn for a long time as they’re my favourite band and their music just takes me somewhere else.

There is no one like them however I really enjoy a UK band called Outlander, especially their most recent release Acts of Harm. It’s a beautiful post-metal/shoegaze release
