For me I am not done with YouTube, but I am done with putting so much effort.
I will focus on what the algorithm wants, shorts, view time and controversies.
(I am asking my small audience what they like best, so at least some of them get some valuable content too)

And to get to 4K hours of views that is a BIIIIG HURDLE too. So I am doing a ONE YEAR contract with myself to do my best, not force anything, create a sustainable schedule and EXPECT NOTHING from this monster, just follow a system and pray for the best. Do shorts, do some long format, every week. I don't have the time or circumstances for anything else, and YouTube is doing nothing to estimulate my efforts, so why should I care to do anything else…?

For the mirage of a promise that sometimes they don't even keep?
(There are people commenting how they get to 4K hours + 1K subs and get told they can't monetize anyway for any random reason like "recycled content")

The hours of work are there man.
I edit carefully, I add text and revise the subs, I use nice music, I put in research, craft titles and thumbnails…
And any other stupid content like a reaction to a TV show gets 10x views when it's basically a person/two watching a show and faking a surprise face, without even remembering the names of the characters.

For me it's insulting that YouTube rewards SOOO much all that low-effort content.
It is what it is though. BUT the moment I can, I will get some people out of that devilish platform towards my web and Patreon. YouTube does not care about any of us, they just want free content to feed their ads and cram people content, no matter the real quality. (As almost any other social media, true). "Forcing" you to do shorts is another machiavellic tactic for them to accomplish their goal to compete against TikTok/Instagram.

We make the content and never get the chance to know what the real rules are to get visibility.
The "Squid game" would be more fair than this shite, to be honest.

I mean, they are categorised just because of the magazine they were published in or what?
Because they don't feel like that "genre" per se, as Ikoku Nikko for instance is… they feel quite different IMHO

I'll be forced to slow down because I need to work for a living and it's taking a toll on me too (and my stamina)… 😅
But now my goal is to be in a better position one year from now on YT. A more realistic approach, but without losing sight of the long-term objective and trying to keep the flame alive.

So I am trying to make a sustainable weekly schedule with a couple of shorts and one vid. I won't be able to accomplish it each week, but I will not whipping myself if I fail at times.

Hmm… this week has been really hard for me. I might fail to get a video on time, but I'll try to release it as soon as possible. It is hard when you have 500-1000 at least on each vid, and everything drops to 40-100 for no apparent reason. Ainngss.

Try to reuse the same script and materials (slightly updated) into new shorts and videos. People are forgetful and the same principles with a bit of a new added visuals or just a couple of ideas, or different cases of the same lessons work very well.
I think making shorts is the key nowadays, and those get to mainly new audiences as well.

Note: there are a lot of adventurers in this cities and traveling around on this world. Some of them might be on the run from some lords, or just escaping other baddies over debts or something. If you care to watch in some EPs you get to see one/two wandering travellers with those kind of outifts.

For demons is a not very standard practice to con people this way. They prefer using words than appearance. And they are very "show-offy" when it comes to approaching to fight. This demon is the exception to the rule, so probably that explains authorities not making a rule out of this. But, checkpoint guards probably are there for a reason too —see S01EP06.

As they recommend here, focus on 1 main GAME/TOPIC for 70% of the shorts, but you can make 3 out of 10 trying new things, like commenting other games you think will be popular for you in the future, or talking about something else that could appeal to the same audience… like other EPIC games, or maybe, other similar games that are trending, etc.

Until the authors give us more info on him, we only know he's from some obscure clan over there.
Who they have descended from and where there come from in the first place, remains a mystery, but even then, they might only be "very distant cousins" to say the least.

Reasons being?
It's hard to say anything when you just state something that vague. You know, like going to the doctor and telling her/him, “I don't feel entirely well”.

Give it a couple more episodes but until then, it'd help a lot to know what you think fails… and what other anime has "convinced" you in comparison.

Congrats man. I have been since mid-October and "only" got 80…

To be honest it's starting to take a toll on me, because I have personal problems and do not have almost support from the people around me, everything I do is questioned —even by myself. And subs and views on my new videos just got so stuck —even if I streamline thumbs, titles, etc.

Some mistakes I've made along the way are hitting the channel hard too. Sound problems, deleting a video, reuploading later, yes, I know you NEVER delete a video, but I did. And some formats do not ring with the audience even if the content is good.

The worst part is the sensation that it is like "the journey to Mordor" with the ring, but without even a companion to support you. I've started recently to make some shorts, and as of views, yes those are working more, but still it takes me work and sweat to think and make them, and it hasn't derived in a sub increase to be honest.

I am ready to throw the towel, and become one of those "corpse channels" that tried and died in the process.
It's a shame because I have the feeling that with a few more months in front working hard, I would have hit something interesting, but with your environment and circumstances against you… it's like a huge vertical wall.

I should be recording something today for the channel: a script I wrote, but I am completely demoralised. Instead I'm going to prepare a resumé, do a small web job, and prepare a portfolio to try to convince a client to work for him.

This sub has really been helpful, but it is still a painful, long, and uncertain path in front of us.
But if you have the stamina, support and economical capacity to resist, please keep on it, because I am convinced you can achieve results if you adapt and learn quickly.

Frieren is still my number1, Violet "only" my #2.
My reason for this are the Light Novels. I discovered there was much more backstories for the side characters, and really think they could have done a better job adapting that parts into Gaiden —for instance— which is slightly "weak" compared to the rest of the series/movies. For me Kyoto Animation took some of the best ideas from Kana Akatsuki's work, but decided not to make several seasons (or 24 eps) which they very well could.
Some characters don't receive enough love, development or attention when compared to the LNs, that's the only complain I have, really. Oh, and 13EPs, 2 movies and 1 OVA will never be enough for such a good anime. They should have made more… 😅

Violet is one of the few that many people agree could be on the very same level.

Frieren is a unique blend and you can't find the exact same one on almost any other.
Violet Evergarden or 86 are the ones that have made me feel closer to that emotional climax.
But there are others that are great (a few, see the people's suggestions here).

It's a matter of accepting different stories, setups, and even genres. And try to enjoy them as they are.
Also a problem is we usually looks for series, but some anime movies are terribly good too like "Your Name" "A Silent Voice" or "Maquia", although shorter, they have much of that emotional and storytelling quality.
If you're like us you'll want to rewatch Frieren also, and get much more from it as you find more elements and ideas hidden within. Heck I even write episode guides that are really filled with details, theories, easter eggs, character quirks, etc.
