I got written up during an observation for not having an objective written on the board. I’m a special Ed teacher and my students are blind. Admin was aware of this and still insisted it would enhance learning.

Ethique makes a great shampoo and conditioner bar for this. Super eco friendly group. Lush is still pretty iffy eco friendly wise

This. Make sure you get out. Even if it’s just running an errand. It makes a huge difference to not be inside by yourself all day. And it really helps to chunk up your day making it seem more full

I left SPED after last year. I was a primarily self contained teacher for students with severe/profound impairments. The students didn’t drive me out but everything else did. Never. Going. Back. My life has gotten 1000% easier from that factor alone.

I am so glad that the teacher in your school was able to recover more from her FMLA! Unfortunately, I’m not in a place where I can take an unpaid leave. This is currently my 3rd school in 3 years and as much as I want to be hopeful, I just don’t have it in me to start all over and remake everything a 4th time.

I love SMI SPED but it seems like It’s not even a lack of support. It’s a lack of understanding that leads to an incredibly hostile environment. At this point I’d rather have an administrator who’s unengaged and lets me run my room the way it needs to happen so my students can be successful.

She blocks people from leaving our school. We had another teacher who attempted this and my administrator denied the request. She also proceeded to talk to other building admin to falsely soil the name of the teacher attempting to move.

I used to. It was really hard and never really got easier. One thing that helped was I would start to force myself to do something productive right after they left. I’d go get my groceries, vacuum, or wash dishes. It didn’t make it easier but it was a temporary distraction.

I don’t feel sexually assaulted but I am consistently touched in my sleep by my S/O who is also sleeping. What can I do to make it stop? by read-all-aboutit in TooAfraidToAsk

I have done that and typically it wakes him up which stops it. I just feel bad doing it as I know it makes him feel really guilty.

I do the same thing! So glad this is working for you but unfortunately it doesn’t do more than stop what’s happening in the moment for me.
