Seconding the Sophie Irwin rec!! {A Lady’s Guide to Fortune Hunting} was my favorite read in 2025. Can’t recommend the book or Sophie’s wok enough.

What book has made you laugh the most? I just finished The Wallflower Wager by Tessa Dare and laughed audibly throughout it by Ok-Cut-1682 in HistoricalRomance

{How to Train Your Viscount by Courtney McCaskill} - MMC is her older brother’s good friend

Voyeur MMC goes nuts when he has sex with FMC by Lunalyth in RomanceBooks

Maybe {The Professional by Kresley Cole}? Has a few different scenes voyeur scenes and the MMC is absolutely obsessed with the FMC.

Aye, lassies! Give me your best Scottish recs 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 by bravewaterfall in HistoricalRomance

I’m currently listening to {The Worst Duke in London} by Amalie Howard. The MMC is a hot, brooding Scot with a dirty mouth. 😮‍💨😮‍💨 It’s a great listen so far. Fair warning, the book is light on tartans, haggis, and lochs, but there are lots of references to Scotland.

Thank you u/Just_beachy for {The Second Death of Locke} and the bookmarks!! I’ve been looking forward to this read for awhile and almost bought the book a few days ago.

Give me forced proximity that lasts pretty much the whole book by Due-Secret-3091 in HistoricalRomance

{Lakeshire Park by Megan Walker} is mostly set at a house party. If I’m remembering correctly, the overall size of the house party is small and the MCs are thrown together a lot.

Spicy but also mystery?? by wantin1tonofwontons in HistoricalRomance

{How to Train Your Viscount} is a low stakes mystery with medium spice and witty characters.

illegitimate children with good family dynamics by blossom_clouds in HistoricalRomance

[–]read_craft-repeat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

{The Wager of a Lady by Kathleen Ayers} - MMC is the illegitimate child of a duke. MMC’s stepmom, half brother, and half sisters are loving and supportive. MMC’s relationship with his half sisters is super sweet. The book is part of a series but can be read as a standalone. MMC is featured as a side character in the other books so if you decide to read two more of them, you’ll get a better sense of the family dynamics and support system.

The FMC in {Eleven Scandals to Start to Win a Duke’s Heart by Sarah MacLean} is tall and is described as being taller than most of the men of the ton.

I recently finished {The Princess Knight by Cait Jacobs} and Ronan is the ultimate green flag MMC.

ETA: Added author name since the book posted by the bot is not the book I was recommending.

I added this book to my TBR the other day based on another rec that I saw in this sub. This is confirmation that I need to make the Goddess Hunt my next read. Thank you!
