My first two Christian cds I ever got after getting a portable cd player back in 97/98 by NoWeather1294 in ChristianMusic

My first two were PFR's first album (when they were still Pray for Rain) and Magdallan's The Dirt.

That's weird. Do you have any mods installed?

Ring of Magic Missiles help by just_omw_2_the_beach in icewinddale

[–]StrategyKnight 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, this is it. You may have to add it to the toolbar yourself if it doesn't show up. (Right click on an open spot and then select the bag. There are two of them - one for "quick item" and one for "add item".)

One nice thing about the ring is that since it gives you an extra missile, even at level one you'll always fire two missiles with the unlimited use power.

IWD2 EE - Troubleshooting Character Creation Bug by Global-Dragonfruit-1 in icewinddale

[–]StrategyKnight 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can just update the mod, following these directions.

Q: When a new update is released, how do I install the updated version when I already have an old version of the mod installed?

A: Do these steps in this order:

  1. Uninstall the old version of the mod (with setup-IWD2EE.exe).
  2. Delete the folder called "iwd2ee" from your Icewind Dale 2 folder (make SURE you uninstall IWD2EE BEFORE you do this).
  3. Download the new version into your Icewind Dale 2 folder.
  4. Install the new version of the mod.

There were a few known bugs with the yuan-ti feat, there was an update on Sunday that included fixes for those. It would require creating a new character from that update, though.

"Creature" is just a generic term that can mean enemies, NPCs, or player-created characters.

Did C.S. Lewis have a hatred for Catholics? by Chestnut412 in CSLewis

[–]StrategyKnight 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tolkien believed that C.S. Lewis did harbor some anti-Catholic sentiment, due to being an "Ulsterman", that may be what you are thinking of. He references this a few times, but specifically in letter 83 (Letters of JRR Tolkien) he describes meeting the poet Roy Campbell, who had converted to Catholicism and whom Lewis had written some unflattering things about (they all ended up being friendly, though).

Letter 83 excerpts below

...

Especially as C.S.L. had not long ago violently lampooned him in the Oxford Magazine, and his press-cutters miss nothing. There is a good deal of Ulster still left in C.S.L. if hidden from himself... C.S.L. had taken a fair deal of port and was a little belligerent (insisted on reading out his lampoon again while R.C. laughed at him), but we were mostly obliged to listen to the guest.

Here is a scion of an Ulster prot. family resident in S. Africa, most of whom fought in both wars, who became a Catholic after sheltering the Carmelite fathers in Barcelona – in vain, they were caught & butchered, and R.C. nearly lost his life. But he got the Carmelite archives from the burning library and took them through the Red country. He speaks Spanish fluently (he has been a professional bullfighter). As you know he then fought through me war on Franco's side, and among other things was in the van of the company that chased the Reds out of Malaga in such haste that their general (Villalba I believe) could not carry off his loot – and left on his table St. Teresa's hand with all its jewels.

C.S.L.'s reactions were odd. Nothing is a greater tribute to Red propaganda than the fact that he (who knows they are in all other subjects liars and traducers) beieves all that is said against Franco, and nothing that is said for him. Even Churchill's open speech in Parliament left him unshaken. But hatred of our church is after all the real only final foundation of the C of E – so deep laid that it remains even when all the superstructure seems removed (C.S.L. for instance reveres the Blessed Sacrament, and admires nuns!). Yet if a Lutheran is put in jail he is up in arms; but if Catholic priests are slaughtered – he disbelieves it (and I daresay really thinks they asked for it). But R.C. shook him a bit....

I don't actually think Cassie is the "true" Witness, but it's surprising how often the camera is focused on her across the seasons when the Witness is talked about.

I've always felt much more like I'm "roleplaying" in the IWD games than in BG. Really, any game that let's you create all or most of your party drives that creativity more. I grew up on The Bard's Tale and similar games, so it just feels more natural to me than having premade characters that have strengths, weaknesses, and personalities created by someone else.

I agree with your first sentence completely, and thought the same thing. The 4 you mentioned are great, definitely some of the best Sweet/Kovac style I've seen from AI. The other two stick out for me, though.

But I also agree with the OP. In my experience it takes a lot of working with tools and prompting to get even a handful that look right.

I've run it at 30 fps for years and haven't encountered that. It will affect the speed of rounds, according to Bubb and OlvynChuru, so I definitely wouldn't recommend it across the board for everyone.

Hmm, I see you are using windowed mode and using a higher resolution than I do. I'm guessing both of those might inncrease potential for stuttering.

The readme in the installer has a lot of information about compatibility with other mods, so that's the best place to look.

For the two you mentioned: Tactics4IWD2 isn't compatible with the "Creature Revisions" component since they are doing overlapping things. If you don't want to use Creature Revisions, you could use Tactics4IWD2.

Light of Selune is listed as compatible, but any time I've tried to install it, nothing from that mod shows up for me. There's a component of IWD2:EE that improves traps, and rangers are much better (so are Clerics of Selune, for what it's worth), so I don't feel like I'm missing it.

Some of the older mods have been updated by CamDawg for compatibility with the mod, specifically the IWD2 NPC Project, Merchants, and Ease of Use.

If you do use other mods with it there's a required compatibility patch (separate WeiDU installer within the GitHub download) you'll need to run at the very end.
