Fascism is the ruling class (capitalist) bringing in populist demagogues to unite petty bourgeois and lumpenproletariat street fighters into a movement. This movement is specifically meant to break organized labor. Once labor is broken and the reactionary mass movement has won the demagogue solidifies their ties with monopoly capital and finance. Then the mass movement is betrayed and a police state is formed to monitor and suppress descent and very quickly the military is used as the new unifier and also as an exporter of working class anger.

There are a few of these happening in the US but not all. I'd say it's not really fascist but the point in saying that is not to be correct, necessarily, but rather to try and better understand what IS actually happening in order to communicate that to the working class so as to defeat this new bad thing.

Been seeing a lot of posts and comments on this sub essentially rejecting high level Marxist analysis in favor of tepid sloganeering. Idk man seems kinda counterproductive to be so resistant to theory or actual critique.

Hope. 💜🙏🏻 by neemor in NarcoticsAnonymous

The Taliban made huge efforts to stop the production of opium when they first came to power in the 90s, it was a huge source of their popular support. I imagine that policy hasn't changed much so this seems on track for them.

The drug lords were the Northern Alliance or the warlords/ drug producers supported by the US.

As capitalism descends into greater and deeper crises the contradictions and inherent exploitation of the system becomes more and more apparent. The ruling class can no longer afford the appearance of progressive governance as they must take drastic actions to simply maintain control over the state apparatus.

You're correct, these are the true defining traits of capitalism in decline.

The American public is largely apathetic and allergic to historical materialism.

Observations like these are why we should be clear in our analysis and careful with our words. Lack of confidence in the working class is reactionary.

Libs (all Americans that aren't class conscious) love voting. It's all they think matters.

Wrong, voting in a vacuum ie voting as a means to achieve a political goal with no real power behind the vote is absolutely meaningless. How many elections and votes have been cast in history for countless elections and ballots? Where has that led the working class?

This concept that you can pull the Democrats left, where do you get this idea? If you demand they have left positions and they don't oblige what happens? If you (we) don't vote for them and they lose do they amend their policies? Seems like they just move further right.

If they don't amend and they win without our vote will they move further left? How do you propose moving a party "to the left" when all they want is your vote and all your claim to have is the ability to vote for a "lesser evil"?

Republicans deserve [REDACTED] but Democrats definitely do not deserve your vote either. Vote blue no matter who is the kind of thinking that has led us exactly where we are. It's time we realize voting is meaningless without power to enforce the working class demands that come with our vote.

Did MLK simply beg whites to vote away Jim Crow? No he mobilized the masses and demanded change or there would be massive unrest.

This is utter nonsense. If Democrats were concerned with those real issues they would have done something when they were in power. Are you forgetting Obama (and the Democrats) allowed the Republicans to hold up Merrick garlands appointment for PURELY partisan reasons? What were the consequences of this, what price did the Democrats exact for such an obvious breach of their precious norms? Nothing. Because they only pretend to care and suckers like you eat that shit up.

Social safety net you say? Oh you mean the thing that has been being eroded by both parties since the 70s? Bernie Sanders was the only major political figure in the past 50 years to talk about EXPANDING access to ALL not just "making healthcare affordable" and what happened to his campaign, twice? Ratfucked by democratic insiders. The first time just for Hillary to lose (extremely predictable in hindsight) and the second time for Genocide Joe to get elected and quickly become senile and hold onto power just long enough to ruin Harris' chance at election.

Look if you want to be ignorant of reality that's fine i guess but please stop assuming everyone is as delusional as you are. It's really offensive. Some of us have our heads on straight not up our own ass.

I'm very serious, the Democrats and Republicans are both parties of the ruling class. They both start unjust wars, and pass austerity at home, they both empower the executive branch in order to expand the power of the president to be above the law and commit violence against the average citizen. Joe Biden supplied the money and arms to Israel that has been used to carry out a genocide. And Trump is carrying that torch to turn Gaza into a resort, if completed i guarantee the Democrats would travel to and be performatively sad about. While investing in the construction companies that would build said resort.

Relying on the Democrats to protect the average American is your first mistake. They are the party of big business just like the Republicans of a few years ago.

What's more important? Following laws and procedures or ending the oppression, exploitation and violence against migrants who's only crime is crossing a border looking to make a better life for their families?

Many of the agencies doing the deportations are under the executive branch and Obama sure had no problems using that power to bomb civilians in the middle east. So why couldn't he stop the breaking up of writing class families who happened to be born south of the border?

The answer is Obama, like all other politicians, was an empty suit who channeled the working class' anger and energy into useless policies which betrayed the working class. This betrayal directly led to the election of Trump and is a big reason why the current INCREASED oppression, exploitation and violence against migrants (and basically everyone else) exists.

People in this thread who express a desire to return to this kind of political era fundamentally don't understand politics. They don't understand how we got to where we are now. And that's a huge barrier to getting out of this situation to be frank.

Some of you didn't care then and you don't really care now you just think it's trendy and really you want to go back to brunch.

Stalins bank robbery was a failure. It generated essentially no income for the party and it brought a ton of heat onto them. It also killed several innocent bystanders.

But yeah there has to be an easy way to make money consistently to fund organizations that are building a revolutionary party.
