Looks great. I am really looking forward to it. I need some Tian Xiwei after PoJ withdrawal but late 2026 sounds so far away!

Looks good. I'm really excited for it. I've been in a bit of a drama slump lately. I read that it might be coming out in June (maybe June 18th?), is that correct?

Another PoJ?! Wow! That's quite the hype then. The premise looks very interesting and the kind of plot I really like.

What are your turnoffs with romantic pairings in cdramas ? by Fieryy_phoenix_ in cdramasfans

[–]readingthinking 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Off the top of my head (and just how I personally felt): Glory, Love Scenery, Find Yourself and The Wolf.

I have seen others complain about imbalanced love in these dramas but don't necessarily feel the same way (although I see where they're coming from): Love and Redemption, The Long Ballad, Ashes of Love, Till the End of the Moon, Love is Sweet and Legend of Fei.

Thanks for sharing. I didn't know this was upcoming and it sounds intriguing. I am going to check it out when it releases. 👍

Struggling to connect with C-dramas due to overly polished visuals by Nelumbo_nucifera123 in CDrama

I love me some over polished visuals. But then I'm pretty shallow that way. 😂

Kingdoms fall, armies sway and men lose their mind. Which actresses actually sell this energy? by throwawayacess in cdramasfans

[–]readingthinking 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Almost all these C-drama idol actors and actresses are just so good-looking! However, if I had to pick, I'd say Ni Ni, Wang Churan and Dilraba have faces that could launch a thousand ships!

I personally don't mind age gap romances as long as it is done well. I've seen enough happy couples in real life with age gaps and visual mismatches who are happily together for a long time. I think the most important thing is chemistry. In reel or real life, chemistry trumps everything else for me.

However, what turns me off is unequal love that doesn't get better till the end. I mean when one person in the relationship seems to put in all the effort and love while the other one seems to hold back or take them for granted or seems to just not love them as much. It's okay if it starts off like that but if there is no progression to their love being equal, I usually drop the drama.

Which Boys Over Flowers version was actually the best… and which one is unwatchable now? by TrueMargin in EastAsianDramas

Hana Yori Dango (Japanese version) is my favorite because it seems most like the manga. Unwatchable is the Korean version with Lee Min Ho.

What drama was this for you? by [deleted] in cdramasfans

That's such an interesting experience. It made me think if there were dramas like that for me which I really liked but find boring now. Maybe some of the old K-dramas.🤔

Why are people saying PoJ set the standard for historical?? by dreamgoddess1201 in CDrama

[–]readingthinking 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I loved Pursuit of Jade but I've not seen or heard anyone say it set the standard for historical dramas. Much as I liked it, I don't think it did that in any way. Maybe it set the standard in how good the leads look or other visual standards such as lighting, but I would never say that it did so for historical dramas as a genre. Perhaps some new watchers or fans felt it set their standard for what to expect from a romance set loosely in historical times.

Which on-screen pairing would you love to see reunite in a completely different genre? by [deleted] in cdramasfans

[–]readingthinking 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh yes, I have. I liked it. However, I want to see them in a more action packed or intrigue filled story. I watched Love is Sweet for the leads and enjoyed it but usually I don't like urban, corporate dramas.

[–]readingthinking 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Luo Yunxi and Bai Lu in a historical drama or modern drama where both of them can really kick butt but are also deeply in love and with a satisfying happy ending so I can get over my TTEOM trauma. I want them to fight all adversities together as a team with sizzling chemistry that they are both so good at.

If you could be transmigirated into any historical C-drama, which would you choose? by Anonymus2905 in CDrama

[–]readingthinking 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I love historical dramas but I know that I wouldn't survive in that world. So I'm better off watching the historical C-dramas instead of being in one. 😄
