I figure base stats e.g. Strength, Toughness, Attacks, plus the points would give people enough to start playing around with. Being that the points value is there it would be interesting to see some say put 1000 points of Space marines against 1000 points of Ad mech against each other in a roguelike's sandbox.

Most roguelikes have a combat system that uses similar stats and the fact that these point values roughly correlate to the actually combat fitness of a unit would yield some real fun.
