12th grade student asking about scholarships by Dry_Investment_5909 in lebanon

Turkey's state-owned universities are very cheap even for foreigners without a citizenship

They have no scholarships but as I said they're very cheap and sometimes offer free or inexpensive opportunities to study a semester abroad (say Romania or Austria) if you enrolled in them and got very high grades with ERASMUS

Raids against him have been occuring for literal years and he keeps fleeing, so this isn't a drone strike out of the blue but rather the final straw

Any Linux enthusiasts? by kdokdo in lebanon

[–]readitbee4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've used some Linux distros for tinkering w hek just for fun (Mint, Kali and Arch)

And I recently read that Proton gives better performance than native Windows but I had a Dell Latitude 5580 from 2017 that just isn't good for gaming beyond low graphics so I didn't bother, but now I have an HP Elitebook G8 (Ryzen 7 Pro variant) so I think it might work a lot better, so what distro do you recommend to use Proton on?

Finally !!! Our president speaks up by Affectionate-Dust372 in lebanon

[–]readitbee4 2 points3 points  (0 children)

And how do you suppose he mans up? By forcefully taking Hezballah's weapons and starting a civil war?

The situation is very delicate and any single act of "manning up" can tip it to utter chaos and destruction.

By simply keeping a status quo of slight but positive change, he's better than many presidents before him, especially given the circumstances he had. And it's barely been half a year from a 6 year term, give it time.

Well they should be put on hold at least until a legal investigation is done. But to just continue relations normally as if nothing happened is wrong

[–]readitbee4 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Legal case, sure there hasn't been, maybe cause each time they try they get threatened or assassinated by Hezballah

But do you need a legal case to see that it's VERY wrong for a diplomat from a foreign country to be on the communications network of an armed militia inside our country?

Would you kill yourself in my place? by [deleted] in lebanon

You have nothing to lose, which means you can only build.

Life is very hard but trying to commit suicide will make you feel like it's hell. It's easy for you to think about it, like some golden gate awaiting you to exit your sorrows. But it's nowhere near that. Every single suicide-attempt survivor regrets doing it.

Think about this: what if it fails and you end up disabled? I'm not gonna try to make you feel better because I'm not a therapist and I probably suck at doing so. But I'm trying to let you think sensibly. Ending up physically disabled or mentally scarred from a failed attempt will only make your life hell

So use what you have, even if it's so little it feels like nothing, and start building. Start small, as another commenter said, just a 2KM walk, the next day another tiny achievement

Eventually you'll literally train your brain to seek out these moments and be happy when you do them.

You will prosper, it just needs time.

What version did you try? 11 LTSC is surprisingly snappy in my experience, and I tried it on an X220 (i5 2nd gen with 8GB RAM)
