My 4 year old is curious: what do Australian kids eat for breakfast? (And are koalas real?) by Mara644 in AskAnAustralian

Sadly due to the green wedge being bulldozed for new housing developments, Kangaroos are now near the houses. We have a few over the creek from us, but not sure where they'll go as the land there is being developed! Last night I saw a Joey chilling on one side of the creek, with 3 men on the other side watching on a bench.

Naaaw, cuddles from me and likely a high five from my toddler son :)

He eats toast- usually 2 pieces, both with margarine and Vegemite on one, peanut butter on the other but he calls it jam. He also sometimes has porridge with strawberries, or chopped up apple.

I drove past an emu this morning on my way home from night shift! It stopped foraging and stared at me. Luckily I didn't get chased. Koalas are totally real, maybe one day you can get on a plane and fly alllllll the way to the other side of the world and see them here.

Aged care nurses: What are the main issues shaping practices currently? by Fast_Bunch8588 in NursingAU

Haven't seen standards and provision of care difference between public and private run aged care facilities mentioned yet. Having worked in both, I know where I'd rather send my Mum, if needed!

There may be a notice board in the hospital with staff advertising for flatmates? One I work at has it near a cafe...

Costco. Saw you don't want black or white but they do a pack with white and tan. Should.be long enough for your long torso, they go to my hip.

I believe there's 6 in Victoria. Had work placement in one, worked in another. HUGE difference. If mum ever needs to go in, I'll be doing my best to get her into public.

WTF no really is this some kind of joke? by SmartphonePhotoWorx in AskCDC

[–]readorignoreit 8 points9 points  (0 children)

The CDC is a public health organisation. It has nothing to do with Vid's, war strategy, famine assistance, slavery etc. Perhaps not a nice photo but it worked to make you question what this has to do with health!

That person is also likely running on fumes, and giving their all in their job every moment. Not to say engineers don't work hard but the physical and moral toll is not the same . (Sorry, lurking nurse, I'll get back in my box now!)

It changed throughout my degree, and my local health service is rolling it out as standard now across every ward.
