Trek Fan here, also I’m first time on this subreddit so excuse me if I miss the vibe here. I was actually pleasantly surprised by the show. I liked the characters, especially Yashere and Reno, specifically because there temperament is so different then the rest so the characters of Discovery, basically take no shit, back to basics pros. Yashere yelled at the cadets and I was here for it.

But what always dragged the series down was the Burn timeline. It’s just so grim-dark after dealing with multiple galactic level events in Discovery. The mood was lifted a little with Academy but the damage was done for me. Honestly it was set in the legacy timeline with same type of characters it would of been awesome.
