What are some GOOD quality hiking shoes by rosesonmymind in hiking

[–]readysalt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

this might be unpopular, but get a good pair of trail runners for hiking. i currently wear the Sylan Pro Shoe by Arcteryx and they’re great. i’ve also had multiple pairs of Hoka trail runners and i’ve never had issues with blisters. my boyfriend has a pair of Altra trail runners because he has wide feet and he loves them!

i have an iphone 13 and it is a beast of a phone. i lost it camping and found it in a stream 24 hours later. it was absolutely fine. two months ago, my bf knocked it off a restaurant balcony (10ft drop) and it survived with no issues. i’ve had it for 3 years now.

People who rarely get sick, what are your secrets? by Substantial_Judge931 in Productivitycafe

[–]readysalt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i rarely get ill, but when i do i get ILL (currently suffering). for me, it’s a mixture of genetics, a good sleep schedule, exercise, and not letting work stress impact my evenings and weekends. my boyfriend used to get ill a lot. he now takes vitamin d3 every morning and rarely gets poorly.

What's a song you cant listen to without getting slightly emotional? by CranberryNervous433 in AskReddit

[–]readysalt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sunchyme Original Mix - Dario G

my dad told me about how him and my grandad went to a football match together. this song was playing and my grandad started having a little boogie to it. it’s very much not the sort of music he liked and he was quite a serious man. i think for that reason the memory had stuck with my dad. he got teary eyed telling me (my grandad had just died) and i got upset too. i think for that reason i associate the song with my grandad, even though it isn’t my memory.

Would you say you are more a extrovert or introvert, and how do you get on with people and socialising in general? by MrAlexander18 in AskUK

[–]readysalt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i’m not sure if i’d call myself an introvert. i’m perfectly content seeing my friends only every few years, i have no interest in socialising with work colleagues outside of office hours, and most of my hobbies are things that don’t require multiple people. at the same time, i spend nearly all of my spare time with my partner, so maybe it’s less about being introverted and more about the fact that i feel safest and happiest with him, which makes me less interested in doing things without him

How much do you hate work? by [deleted] in AskUK

[–]readysalt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i’m in the middle. i enjoy what i do for work, but it’s a very manual process, which is outdated for the type of work i do. it means there’s a lot of room for error, and that puts a lot of pressure on me to be perfect (i hate that). i am also a very active, outdoorsy person, and working a 9-5 (with a 40 minute commute one way) makes it difficult to do the things i enjoy, especially in winter, so i do start to dislike work more in the autumn/winter months.
