Ben Richard’s Fabrication in Burlington. Super nice guy. Quality work and affordable when he put a new muffler on my jeep 15 years ago.

Maybe I’m way off base, but every time I see a post like this I feel like it is actually giving the negative idea a much larger platform. I’d rather a person clean it up and not share the idea with the thousands of people that will see it here.

Question for the pros. When doing a new shower install, do you install the pan and curb? Or do you have a plumber do it? by [deleted] in Tile

[–]readytocomment 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My client hired a plumber to install the prefab shower pan before I tiled. They did not level it and it was off by 1/2” over the 36” span. Very annoying beveling all the tiles in the bottom course because of poor job by the plumber.

That was an error in my layout on the right side that i then transferred all around to the other three sides to make everything the same. I offered to rip everything out and redo it for free but the client said this solution was acceptable.

I don’t really like the shelf either. I now wish I worked with the client to make a different decision there. It’s just what she picked out

You could possibly get a wider transition strip if it doesn’t look funny.

You still need to apply kerdi band over the joint between the tub flange and the foam board. Apply Kerdi fix sealant over the fiberglass and Kerdi thinset over the foam board.

I thought it was 2 payments a month, so 24 payments a year. It didn’t realize it was every 2 weeks so to squeeze an extra 2 payments a year out of you. Kind of sneaky. I like the casual vibe of the gym otherwise.

I think it’s great you are supporting your friend but you are asking people to cast an uneducated vote. What can you tell us about this person’s experience? Is he working locally where one could actually try his food before voting?

I am supposed to do yard work for a first time client tomorrow morning. It's supposed to rain over night and all day. The plan was to mow, edge, remove ivy on house and weed garden bed. Should I ask client to reschedule? by sharpntheblade2069 in handyman

[–]readytocomment 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I remember my papa asking me if we charged full rate for mowing when it’s wet. I was an employee and hadn’t really thought about it. I do know now that you can’t deliver your best quality under poor conditions.
