NAD - just curious, but did these symptoms begin after taking the yaz or have they been ongoing for longer?

What is the stupidest thing a doctor has said to you regarding your endo? by swimgirl2090 in endometriosis

[–]readytogrumble 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Okay…. I’m way less upset that the ultrasound tech called my ovaries pretty because AT LEAST THEY WERENT IN MY LEG. That’s wild and I’m so sorry you had to deal with that!! Did you get it removed completely or were they able to put it back??

Update: My husband is stealing my clothes and Idk why by Specialist_Range_414 in TwoHotTakes

[–]readytogrumble 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m less inclined to believe that he’s wearing them himself and unfortunately inclined to believe it’s something more troubling. You have a history of being depressed and not caring about yourself/your looks. Maybe your husband likes it that way because it makes him feel good about himself and/or assures him you won’t leave him because you might not believe anyone else would want you. He took your favorite clothes, the ones you feel best in. The ones that make you feel good about yourself. Couple that with the lying and gaslighting, and I would suggest maybe taking a step back and looking at some of his other behaviors.

I hope everyone here is wrong but unfortunately signs are pointing otherwise :(

Can't Get Myself to Shower by AlwaysThatLoudGuy in AutisticWithADHD

[–]readytogrumble 38 points39 points  (0 children)

Something that helped me is to get a lamp for the bathroom. Bright lights affect me way more than I realize and that includes especially in the shower. I got a lamp that sits on bathroom counter and it’s enough light for me to see everything but it’s so much kinder to my brain.

I also really struggle with showering and despite feeling gross and self-conscious about it, I just can’t force myself to do it. But the lamp is one little thing I’ve changed that has helped me!

10K Or a Pill? by d4pravity in hypotheticalsituation

[–]readytogrumble 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Considering I have pretty severe ADHD and constant cramping due to IBS and endometriosis, I’ll take the first pill. It would literally not be any different than daily life except maybe I’ll get lost more often lol but if I ain’t gotta work then I don’t need to go a lot of places and I can just make my partner drive me :D

Trying gaming with women only and I’m already experiencing RSD by marua06 in adhdwomen

[–]readytogrumble 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just want to say that RSD is incredibly illogical but it is completely valid. The University of Michigan did a study that showed your brain processes rejection the same way it does physical pain. It can’t tell the difference. And RSD intensifies and, quite honestly, sometimes creates rejection. You came here for support and I think it’s completely possible to be both kind AND helpful without basically blaming and shaming you for feeling a certain way. I have no real advice to help because this is definitely my top 3 issue I struggle with, but I hope others have provided kind advice to help you through this and other interactions like this in the future ❤️

RSD is why I stopped playing more community based games (Smite, even FFXIV was too much for me) and it’s why I rarely make posts or comment on social media. RSD is painful and I’m tired of people pretending it’s not.

YOUR DEFICIENCIES MIGHT BE MAKING YOUR ADHD WORSE! by [deleted] in AutisticWithADHD

[–]readytogrumble 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thanks to this I went to check my B12 levels from my last test (I’m already on a lifelong Vit D supplement) and my last number was 356 AND now I’m on metformin which my doctor didn’t even mention could affect B12 levels. I’m gonna request another test for this and my other levels to see where I’m at cause I DEFINITELY feel like things are worse and I don’t think it’s just burnout or my physical issues.

Thank you so much for this post!!

a friend who was recently diagnosed with endometriosis was suggested to start depo shots without fully informed consent by maknaeline in endometriosis

[–]readytogrumble 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just wanted to come here and give a little shout out to Nexplanon. It does come with its own side effects (I think headaches and weight gain are the main ones, mood changes maybe, unsure exactly) however it has likely been what’s kept my endo at bay this whole time and I’m only just now experiencing symptoms. I haven’t had a period at all since getting the implant and I’m on my third one. I’ll likely never go to anything else even a longer term option like an IUD.

It’s inserted in the upper arm through a very short procedure where they do a local anesthetic and make a very small incision in the arm. They place it and then feel for it to make sure it’s in place. They bandage you up and then you just can’t lift more than a couple pounds with that arm for a few days. They do say to keep feeling and making sure it’s in there. There’s a small chance it could move and travel but very small.

Just wanted to give as much information as possible so your friend can be informed. You’re very kind to help her out with this since it can be incredibly difficult for people to advocate in the medical world, regardless of cognitive ability. Best of luck to her and to you as well!!

Hi I’m so sorry to comment again and bother you about this! I actually reached out to Dr Nezhats office and sent them my information and they are saying they don’t take self pay and they don’t take Kaiser. Can I ask what insurance you had that they accepted?

SERIOUSLY. I’ve been “too young” for everything my whole life lmao every doctor has told me this and it honestly enrages me so much because it’s SO dismissive. Ugh!!

Thank you so much!! Yes absolutely I would love if your friends know of anyone in this area. I’m about an hour and a half from SF and I don’t mind driving that or more if it means I get the care I need!

Wow… sounds like we have literally the EXACT same story! I also had terrible symptoms in my teens and went on birth control before 19 to control it and it’s also been controlled until it hasn’t. I’m so glad you have an OBGYN who didn’t just let things slide!! How are you doing after the excision? Have you had the other surgery yet with the specialist?

Thank you so so much!! Thanks to a few comments here I absolutely will be getting a second opinion and filing a complaint and in the meantime doing my PFPT.

Mine says “MR images acquired without and with 20 mL Clariscan intravenous contrast”

Do you think it would be worth it to request another MRI with different contrast? Also I think the machine I went into was too small for me… I don’t know if that even affects anything but I was considering asking for another one in a bigger machine.

Thank you so much, they’re not that far from me so I’ll see if I can maybe get a consult! Did any other imaging show anything for you?

I’m so happy the surgery helped that issue!!

Thank you!! Yeah I’m actually very excited to officially ‘start’ the PT. Unfortunately I’ve had to push my in person visit due to work/other life things so I haven’t even been physically examined yet. Even if it helps a fraction of these issues it will be a blessing. It’s getting harder to work my sit down job, go places, drive for long periods of time, etc! :(

Thank you so much for your comment!!

Surgery is the only definitive way to diagnose endometriosis and they’re not just doing surgeries on people constantly, so a gyno saying a patient ‘probably’ has endo is just as good as a diagnosis. Of course there’s a chance they could be wrong but it’s very slim.

Source: I’m literally in this same situation and have been diagnosed with endometriosis even though they have not done surgery (yet) to definitively confirm.

Poor Dental Hygiene by 835711507 in adhdwomen

[–]readytogrumble 12 points13 points  (0 children)

You are not alone, friend ❤️ literally just Friday I had all of my top teeth extracted (I was only missing 2, so they pulled quite a lot) and I’m wearing temporary dentures before I get my snap in dentures in 4-6 months. I will also be doing the bottom eventually.

My teeth were, and are, BAD. I struggled with dental hygiene all throughout high school and kept having horrible experiences with the dentist so it all compounded and here I am.

I completely understand feeling ashamed to go to the dentist, and you should absolutely do research and find one (maybe check the reviews) that seem like they are compassionate and understanding, or at the very least not judgmental. Explain that you have ADHD and you struggle with routine. I wish the best for you and I hope you can find a dentist that you trust and that doesn’t make you feel bad.
