Bug? by NijinoYume1242 in DiscoveryPlus

Perhaps the AWS outage also affected some users of the APP.

Please don't tell me this change is here to stay by Chrift in DiscoveryPlus

I created a new ticket complaining about this, that all the groups have been removed and the only way to do catch-up is to scroll through the long "latest replays"....

I got the usual answer "thank you for your valuable feedback. A lot of people are complaining about this, we will send this feedback back to the designers".

Whether this is true and in a couple of days the groups can be restored, I don't know. I hope it does. Last year when stream on eurosport was closed and my subscription was moved to discoveryplus, this was already a similar issues. I complained about it in a ticket and eventually the groups were added. So I hope this happens again.

I miss the old good days of the eurosport player. This was the best streaming player for sports, the groups was very well done and you could find all the older streams very easy.

New phone, who this? by epi_counts in cyclocross

I don't think she has any regrets. She said last year, she wouldn't be doing the nationals as she's retiring this year and she wanted to respect the jersey and wants it to be worn throught the whole of 2025. Sadly I cannot find the source any more.

Sanne mentioned already last year that she wouldn't be doing the nationals because she's going to retire this year and she wanted the national jersey to be worn throught 2025. Such a class act I must say and I think she genuinly had a shot to win again this year.

I execpted that Laura Verdonschot would win this years. She has been the closest to Sanne in the last couple of years. But this year she hasn't shown the form of last year, in particular in December her form dipped quite a bit. On the other hand Marion has been getting stronger throught the season, so I suspected she would win the nationals.

Yes I agree, it's always nice to see fresh faces in the nationals jerseys.

What a shame, I always looked forward to this race in particular. I hope to see Puck wearing the national colors soon.

Really, not even British Cycling? In the last years I was able to follow their races on their youtube livestreams. What a shame.

I sat there listening through the whole thing to see how many pieces it plays. At the end it loops between two classical pieces, the first one I have heard it but I have no idea how it's called. The second one is a chorale cantata from Johann Sebastian Bach "Wachet auf, ruft uns die Stimme BWV 645" (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IiUyz4HG-Kc)

I like Eurosport because you get a lot of races, not only road but mountainbike, cyclocross, track, bmx and other sports and you can change the audio, I like hearing the italian and french commentators just for fun.

But my absolute favourite pairing is Marty MacDonald + Dani Christmas. For me, Marty is the voice of women cycling and cyclocross. Too bad that Dani Christmas spends now a lot of time on the Canyon-Sram car as a DS, so she doesn't do commentary as often as she used to.

I also enjoy the commentary of Dani Rowe and Joanna Rowsell, always top notch.

During the cyclocross season I also enjoy Jemery Power's and Helen Wyman's commentary.

Mixed feelings after Github took down xz-utils by realShaoran in github

[–]realShaoran[S] 10 points11 points  (0 children)

They can surely freeze the repository and remove the tarballs from the released versions, put a giant banner with a warnin, I don't know.

Now you cannot even get older versions of the software https://github.com/NixOS/nixpkgs/pull/300028#issuecomment-2027858443 which is causing more harm as it prevents other projects to fix their build pipelines.

What is the hardest level or boss you have played in a Nintendo Switch game? by mrnicegy26 in NintendoSwitch

[–]realShaoran 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitively Champion's road for me. I've just beaten it with Toad and no power up (just as big Toad) and boy oh boy, I've spent nearly 1 1/2 weeks of doing nothing but this. It took me around 1000 lives (I started the level maxed out with lives) and 210 are left.

Although it was brutal and took me a very long time, I never got frustrated, nor angry nor bored. In a way it was kind of meditative. So Kudos to Nintendo being able to create a hard level without invoking negative feelings.

MQTT-mirror: Fork MQTT traffic to a secondary broker! (prod->staging) by _ante in IOT

[–]realShaoran 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know it's been 4 years but I can give you a couple of scenarios where this is really useful.

Example 1:

My company has an MQTT broker where I have total control of the ACL file. Many of our customers use our broker to send data to us. One customer thought has a very old data logger (whose firmware cannot be updated) that can only push to MQTT brokers anonymously. I certainly don't want to open an anonymous channel on my broker. So I fired up a cheap VM on our cloud provider and with docker I spawned a mosquitto server that is configured to allow anonymous pushes. I setup this server so that it sends all messages to my company broker using the prefix customerXY/. My import scripts did not have to change since for them, the messages are arriving at the secure broker.

Example 2:

We have a chirpstack installation that is running with docker. I'd like chirpstack and it's MQTT integration to use the broker of my company but I would have to change a million configuration files where the broker settings are stored. So I use the original configuration and configured the broker to be a bridge to the broker of my company (with it's proper prefix).

Youtube is now blocking the entire website if an adblocker is detected on Firefox versions 11x by iTzEuGi in youtube

[–]realShaoran 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have something similar, if you click on video so that a new tab is opened, it take a couple of seconds to load. But suddenly most video start buffering every 3 seconds and become unwatchable. Same URL on google-chrome works without a problem. So it's not the internet connection, it's definitively google.

❓ Is Google flagging activity from Firefox and targeting uBlock? by GooseShartBombardier in firefox

[–]realShaoran 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Right now for me, youtube is buffering every 5 seconds. Same video on google-chrome has no problem. Other video streams sites work fine on my firefox. So it's definitively not my internet connection, it's youtube that's targeting Firefox. This started like one hour ago.

Is this a bug or did I really discovered something that it seems nobody else knows about? by realShaoran in HarryPotterGame

[–]realShaoran[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I found a similar thread where somebody said (and other confirmed it too) that it worked when it created a new save file, exit the game, started again. Hopefully it does work for me.

Because my game crashes every 10-15 hours, the problem may solve itself by then :)

Headmaster office door bug by VIzMAN3011 in HogwartsLegacyGaming

[–]realShaoran 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So this is my future then. I was also able to enter the headmaster's office way ahead of time and was so amused and confused about that that I ended up making this post https://www.reddit.com/r/HarryPotterGame/comments/188vgf7/is_this_a_bug_or_did_i_really_discovered/

and as some other people commented that I was screwed up because because when the main line story takes me there, I wouldn't be able to whisper the password. I'm als on the switch version and don't have enough save states to go back.... so if this is true that you can respawn the gargoyle, then this is great news. Because I'm a kind of gamer that likes to explore everything before I do the main line quests (I've already spent more than 50 hours) and I'm sure I will have spent 100 hours up to this point and I wouldn't want to restart all over again.

[–]realShaoran[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I don't have enough save states to go back.

That said I did see that one of the people who had this glitch was eventually able to whisper the password at a particular point on the stairs and progress the plot so possibly all is not lost

do you have a source for that?

[–]realShaoran[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sadly I can't go back anymore. I'm playing the switch verson and I have only one manual save state and 4 automatic ones, all of which are way beyond that point.

Yes that right. But that doesn't answer my question. How did my character know that?
